mine didn't show up until after 5p.

there have to be people on the way in or eating in town that have no idea since most people over 24yo don't spend their days on ****ing twitter.

They did have it on the website too... But I agree with you. Email should have gone out much earlier, and I bet they will have some people showing up who did not get the message.

they use email to communicate all the time.

they use twitter when? 1p?
facebook?

if you check those two, great. but it is hit or miss.

the ticket office HAS email addresses for STH.

using this they can be told directly. not have to them hope they check fb.twitter.haa website.

and the fact that some fool had the lightbulb click and they sent emails out at 445-500p just shows how they dropped the ball.

and not for nothing, this is the only game cancelled tonight. bentley is playing (couple miles west of haa) and pc is playing (they are looking at slightly more snow incoming that boston).

Email from arena should have gone out at same time as update on goterriers.com as well as on FB and Twitter. Should have been more coordinated communication between all parties.

Agree that there are some folks who are probably either en route or already in the area that unfortunately will have to head back in presumably worse travel conditions than earlier. Also know there are some long-time, older fans who are not technology-savvy who have complained about the lack of "traditional" communication nowadays towards these constituents who don't have email, internet nor social media. They still want/need phone calls, snail mail to stay informed of happenings.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

From what I understand Agganis uses Ticketmaster to send out emails, so they have to go through a third party to get to everyone, which inevitably causes delays. Nonetheless, a bad situation if they end up with emails not arriving until 5 PM. That said, anyone who left to go to the game without bothering to check and see if it was being played has a bit of blame themselves too. If there's a blizzard coming, I'd at least think to check goterriers.com to see if it was being played before I ventured out hours to drive in the snow. Or at least call a friend and see if they heard. I understand not using Twitter and/or Facebook, but if you're not "tech" enough to open up basic internet to check for news on a website then there's an element of get with the times.

If anyone here wants my seats for Monday PM me. I don't have Presidents' Day off. I'll email them.
Can't figure out forum features for the life of me, but if they're not spoken for already I'll take one off your hands. Promise to sit in the away section so as not to embarrass you in your seats ;)

Sorry to change the subject....watching the replay of SWE-LAT and heard the name Redlihs. Turns out it's the brother of former Terrier Jēkabs Rēdlihs. Did Jekabs play in an Olympics?

I don't think so, but both of his brothers are on the Latvian team (along with the seemingly ageless Sandis Ozolinsh).

No Jakubs didn't play in the Olympics. He's still playing, though, for Riga Dynamo in the KHL. In fact both his older brother Krisjanis and younger brother Mikelis are playing for Latvia.

Full list of Terriers who have played in the Olympics. Incluiding Shattenkirk, 32 overall. 24 of them played for Jack Parker. In 1980, besides the four on the U.S. team, Dick Decloe played for The Netherlands and two-time All-American Herb Wakabayashi played for Japan.

I was looking at other games still going too… PC is playing Notre Dame. Rescheduling with a flight involved is quite a bit more of an ordeal. Bentley draws minimal fans I would guess, so that is less of a factor in their decisions and maybe no easy way to get Army back out here (no flights but long bus ride and hotels). Games are at UVM and at Umass where there isn't as much snow in the forecast.

In our case, it seems like playing UNH with no hotel and no flights is much easier to re-schedule.

i don't like Monday at 4 though.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I assume since the game is moving to Monday afternoon NESN won't even bother televising the game now.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I may be in the minority, but I still think BU has a good chance to be a frozen four team in the next few years. (Even next year) However, #2 has become such a train wreck defensively that I don't think we can be a championship caliber team with him skating a regular shift in the next few years.
