Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I'm setting the over/under at 5k. I expect 5,300 to be there. It will be my last game of the year. Here's to a better 2014-2015.

BU Hockey: #6

I'd normally agree with that number but don't think the snow is going to help.

Unrelated, while I am excited about all the recruits that have committed to Quinn/Greeley, I look at the central scouting rankings and I see the same numbers I've seen for years. I know Eichel is an outlier and I haven't taken a deep dive into the analysis, but I see a handful of draft picks in the mid/late rounds. Now, if Quinn/Greeley can develop them so they become NHL caliber players, that's a different story.

Even without Eichel this is one of the best recent recruiting classes.

The 2014 recruit class also includes another 2015 draft eligible, left wing AJ Greer, who has 21 goals and 31 assists in 28 games for Kimball Union thus far. He should easily be among the top NCAA players in the 2015 draft. More information on him in today's blog post.

For comparison on the same team last year Roberto put up a very similar 23-25-48 in 29 games.

Also am excited about the incoming players.

Does anyone have a handle on how many are "new" since DQ / Greeley and how many were already in the pipeline?

Starrett, Eichel, MacLeod, and Piccinich were the last 4 to commit under Parker. Carpenter commit within Quinn's first 50 days so that was probably almost a done deal as well. How much work the old staff put into the recruits from this fall and winter I have no idea.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I'm traveling up to the Whitt tonight. Any suggestions for a local pub? O'Connor is in net. Hopefully UNH can't shoot high. #overtheshoulder

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Anyone know where Greeley is off recruiting tonight?
