how much difference is there between 19-20 yr old kids at say Wisconsin vs KIDS, yes KIDS 19-20 yrs old at Providence, BU or BC?? I'm ,now, "just sayin"

BU played very well defensively for 40 minutes and was opportunistic in taking advantage of DUs blunders. DU finally settled in late in the game and was all over BU by the end. Very bad call on DU at the end...their players had a right to be upset. It had the feel of DU tying it up if the game went a little longer (or if the "penalty" wasn't called)

Good game to be at.

Indeed DU picked it up late but they aren't even in it if Millan doesn't gift wrap goal #2.

Good pairwise win. It's going to be in interesting year in college hockey.

Met former NHLer Ken Baumgartner (sp?) in the Friends Lounge after the game. Anyone remember him? Looks way too young to have stopped playing so many years ago.

Hmm. Denver beats #1 BC. BU beats Denver. Providence beats BU. Ergo, when the poles come out Monday, Providence is your new #1.

Or not.

I hope this isn't one of those seasons where we play up to the competition and play down to the competition as well. The teams that are playing for the hardware at the end of the season only get to have 6 or 7 losses.

From where I sit, I've seen BU put up 7 good periods of hockey out of the 12 they played so far (including the SFX exhibition). Until Hockey East starts experimenting with the 40 minute game though, that's not gonna be good enough to chase down BC. And I really would like to get back to the point where we're not chasing BC anymore, but stepping on their throats like we used to.

Either way, it should be an interesting season.

True on millan. I think I was most surprised with the DU mistakes like how on the first goal their right dman skated all the way across the ice for no reason to chase after a guy, leaving his side of the ice wide open for chiasson.

Uh...., sorry but didn't this weekend just prove that it very well might be one of those seasons?

Ecstatic about the win tonight but man, that loss yesterday still leaves a really sour taste. Next few games on paper are supposedly more "down" opponents so we'll see what happens.

Clear hold on Chiasson on that play. Parker mentioned post-game that the NCAA made this penalty a point of emphasis this year.

What the HECK happened there? Looks like Millan was caught napping on that one.

Great victory for BU. Only WCHA team they are going to face so they will go into the Pairwise 1.000 against the WCHA and not many of them are going to sweep DU. Good for COp. Make the PC game even more puzzling.

You have dismissed the possibility that Providence could be the best team in the conference. They are undefeated after all.

The 1st goal wasn't pretty either. He was out of positition. His mental make-up concerns me.

Last night was almost the Red Sox season in 3 periods of hockey.

BU Hockey: Helter Skelter.

I think everyone dismisses it because it's pure buffoonery to even suggest the fact that PC might be the best team in the conference. Obviously we know about BC. BU is solid. Maine doesn't look that bad. And then there's Merrihack.

Can anyone comment on the Nicastro high-sticking call Friday that led to the GWG? I didn't see the game, but two people who did thought it was not a good call.

Also, thoughts on MacGregor, who played well last night and earned kudos from JP and from Tom Ryan, who noted that pro scouts were asking about him. Should he stay in the lineup when Ruikka returns?

One man's opinion...MacGregor has been BU's best d-man, which is good for him, but not so good for BU. Clendening, not much improvement that I've seen. Privitera? Hasn't done much of a positive nature at either end of the ice.
