Brown @ RPI-March 15, 16 and 17th If Necessary

Re: Brown @ RPI-March 15, 16 and 17th If Necessary

Unlike most of you guys who play for ECAC championships, we still have a shot at the tournament.
???

Quinnipiac, Yale and Union are all ahead of RPI in the PWR. Brown isn't that far behind RPI, and, unlike RPI, they've still got a chance to improve their record (a win against Q would probably do wonders for them) and...uhh...win the ECAC championship. So your statement doesn't have the slightest ring of truth to it. The stench of sour grapes? Yes. Truth? No. Unless you meant to say:

"Unlike most of you guys who play for ECAC championships and control your own NCAA destiny going forward, we still have an outside shot at backing into the tournament, if the right combination of teams win."

Bingo. Well said.

It's getting pretty embarrassing to have you associated with the rest of us on here. Just sayin.

+1. We ended up getting beat by a team that just happened to play our game against us (speed, checking, aggressive, pressure, few goals against). I'm kinda almost thinking of going anyway to see the Brown - Q game. That's could be one hell of a game....and good luck to them. If it didnt hurt our already slim chances, I'd love to see them beat Q.

Blustering and posing by (presumable) adults is pitiful, and a life lived vicariously doesn't amount to much. There is much to be admired in college hockey: talent, effort, perseverance, courage, skill, determination, resilience, creativity, strength, agility . . . It is no credit to fans or the game that so many posts on this site are devoted to gloating over what's bad about college hockey and its fans.

Re: Brown @ RPI-March 15, 16 and 17th If Necessary

The point is: contact happens. This isn't racquetball. To imply that a hockey player should go to JAIL for anything that happens on the ice is comical. It was a physical series and both team got some rough hits. Stop picking on one of our guys when plenty of players on both teams are guilty. I am sorry that Bailen is injured. But it happens.

Continuing this over here because I REALLY don't want to threadjack the pick'em thread...

Perhaps every fan base is guilty of this, but I seem to recall you calling for Curadi's head after he knocked down a few players. To deny that injuries happen in a game like this is just plain folly, but when you go after our leading scorer, you should expect some backlash. Call it taking the example of Lindy Ruff if you will (just look up buffalo ottawa brawl on Youtube), but there's some players you just don't go after.

Thank you for this. (And the rest of what you said.)

The Brown-RPI series could have gone either way. Both are gritty, tough hockey teams. Thanks to both for a thrilling weekend.

I'm putting my opinion out there for people to read. It's mine and mine only; it's always been that way. If you don't like what I type, put me on ignore. My Giver Dam's busted.
