BRING OUT YOUR DEAD (Part Whatever)

Re: BRING OUT YOUR DEAD (Part Whatever)

I think I have seen him in more movies than just about anyone else I can think of. Classics like The Vikings, Spartacus, The Great Race, Houdini, The Great Imposter, The Boston Strangler, The Defiant Ones, Taras Bulba, Trapeze, Some Like It Hot and so many others I cannot list them all. Not a bad career for a little Jewish boy from the Bronx! Not to mention being married to a couple of hotties like Janet Leigh and Christine Kaufman. One of my movie idols growing up.:(

He was outstanding in "The Outsider," playing Ira Hayes the native American who helped raise the flag on Iwo and in "Operation Petticoat." Plus he had a cameo in one of my all time favorites: "The List of Adrian Messenger." One of the gimmicks of the film was several A-listers (Sinatra, Mitchum, Lancaster and Curtis) appeared heavily made up. The idea was to spot them and figure out which was which. They revealed themselves at the end. Still, an excellent mystery with a bad guy willing to blow an airliner out of the sky to kill one person.

Yeah, Bernie Schwartz done good: "Yonder is the castle of my fahdah."

Amazingly, Patrice was not the first guy from Tough Crowd to check out.

If you're scoring at home:

Lewis Black, 62
Rich Vos, 53
Colin Quinn, 51
Nick DiPaulo, 48
Dave Atell, 45
<del>Greg Giraldo, 44</del>
Patrice Oneal, 40

And he's not the last comic standing, either.

Opera soprano Dame Joan Sutherland.

Also, my great aunt Clara. She was 101 years old. She outlived all but one of her four brothers and three sisters. One of her sisters was my paternal grandmother. Just Uncle R.D., the baby of the family, is left, and he is in the nursing home with Alzheimer's.

June: "Ward, wait a minute, I'll be down to make you and the boys breakfast as soon as I do my hair, put on a black dress, a string of pearls and my high heels."

"Oh stewardess, I speak jive."

One of my favorite movie scenes. Ever.

I thought everybody lived like that except my family. Ozzie and Harriet, Father Knows Best, Donna Reed-everybody was always dressed so well at home.

Yeah, and Ozzie had the added advantage of never having to go to work. He and Thornie could play golf 7 days a week. As I know you know, in real life, Ozzie was the brains of that outfit--the guy who masterminded Ricky's career.

Can't forget Lil' Jimmy Norton, 42

I could go off on a historical commentary of 1950s television families, but I'm sure you probably already know all that. :) I used to lecture about June Cleaver and Donna Reed when I was teaching American history.

What can you add about My Little Margie or Amos 'N Andy? Wish they would have reruns of those on now.:D
