I am familiar with his other work.
Half the great songs from 1955 to 1965 were written either by Leiber or Carole King.Jerry Leiber-songwriter of the 50's and sixties. For someone my age-this truly is the day the music died. Cannot even begin to list the hits he wrote or collaborated on.

I saw that. I noticed on the CBC website that the user comments have been 90% friendly. If a political figure here died, it would turn into a crap storm.
R.I.P. Mr. Layton.
I never agreed with Mr. Layton's socialist leanings, both when he was a Toronto City Council member and as leader of the federal NDP party, but he was a class gentleman who will be missed in the political arena.
As for the 90% friendly comments on the CBC's website - the CBC is a left-leaning as Mr. Layton was. Even the comments in the conservative Toronto Sun are mostly positive toward Mr. Layton.
And the other half was probably Holland-Dozier-Holland.
I don't care for her as a performer at all, but dang it, the broad could write lyrics. "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" is the best teenager song ever written. You just made me put on the album Tapestry to listen.
