Hmmm, is that a name straight out of "The Godfather"......that dude has to be crooked as heck.

There are 2 ways to take this. 1) Braun got off on a technicality, is just another guy who lies and denies in the face of a truthfull accusation (ala Clemens, Clinton) and pulled off an Academy Award winning performance yesterday or 2) Dino Laurenzi, (part of the La Russa faction :)) intentionally screwed with that sample, which is entirely possible.

I subscribe to # 2. I'm not a conspiracy guy at all, but Dino could have easily made a whole new sample and submitted it as Braun's. The seal wasn't broken, but the sample is entirely anonomus, labelled only with a number, so the lab doesn't know whose it is. It isn't like getting blood/urine collected for insurance purposes, where you sign the label that goes over the cap. The fact Dino couldn't look @ Braun and took 37 seconds even to say his name to me is an indication of guilt, not embarassment.

And just remember, when Dino ends up dead in the gutter, it was the work of his own family to cover this up....:O

First off: what is the Mileaukee JS gaining by putting all that info out there?

Second: Dino should sell his story and have it developed as a sort of reboot to the Weekend at Bernie's series.

Honestly, I'd just like to see this whole thing go away. Now that Dino's name is out there, it's just going to add to fuel to the fire. Eventually Dino will talk to defend himself, as now he's get dragged through the mud. He's say "Yeah, I screwed up, but I didn't tamper with Braun's sample, and I'll bet my life too, just as Braun is." The bottom line is MLB screwed up majorly by leaking this, and heads should roll. They have totally embarrased themselves the way this was handled, irregardless of guilt or innocence.

Baseball chatter....I want to see Aoki play a lot this year, based in his history of getting on base a lot. A guy getting on base a lot could replace help replace Prince's walks (and Aramis will help replace the HR's). The problem is, where is he going to play?

Corey Hart's surgery went well and if he hadn't had it done, apparently he <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/141753803.html">would have blown out his knee</a> within a month.

I'm glad they got it done early, but it still makes me nervous going forward.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Less than a month until Opening Day.

Mat Gamel's <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/brewers-gamel-takes-a-seasoned-approach-0f4foj2-141851543.html">all grown up and ready to play first base</a>, supposedly.

Corey Hart <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/opener-still-possible-target-for-hart-l64f7ef-141694833.html">might be ready for Opening Day</a>.

(I hope you all have a JS everywhere subscription :p)

Firefox with the NoScript add-on is a good substitute, rumor has it.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Two weeks!

SI picked the Brewers third. I think that's a little harsh and they may be overestimating the loss of Fielder and underestimating the starting rotation.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

If it was like MLB Network, they had the top three teams in the Central finishing within 3 games of each other. If it ends up that close it sure will make for an interesting end to the season.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

OPENING DAY IS NEXT WEEK!!

Shaun Marcum is pitching today.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Jonathan Lucroy signed an extension for 5 years/11 mil

<a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/144310935.html">Corey Hart might play tomorrow</a>, which means he could only miss the first week, and Shaun Marcum may not miss any time.

They did make the picks before Madson was out, but mostly they picked the Reds because they got Latos and Madson and didn't lose any real offense, and they said the division was Cincinnati's for the taking. Things can change pretty quickly. I don't think anyone should pick the Brewers to win the division - that might happen, but I certainly wouldn't predict it. I am cautiously optimistic, as always. One injury can change the whole season.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

To absolutely no one's surprise, <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/roenicke-makes-it-official-gallardo-to-start-opener-vm4paqk-144743215.html">Yo officially named Opening Day starter</a>.

Rotation will be slightly different this year, as Wolf and Marcum trade spots to keep a righty in between the two lefties.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

one week from today.

<a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/145024545.html">Manny Parra has looked good in spring training</a>, no word on Hart yet, and Cezar Izturis will be on the Opening Day roster.

Zelous Wheeler was placed on waivers and claimed by Baltimore.
