Early returns are in on the Mark Kotsay experiment are in...and they are not good. Doubled off first in the top of the inning, dove and missed in the bottom half.

And now Corey Hart with a lackadaisical jog to miss a ball in right.

Yikes.

GOMEZ was the obvious choice, he's been begging for a chance with his recent hitting and his speed in center field

I'm cheering for the storm brewing in central Missouri. Hopefully it moves faster than Mark Kotsay in the outfield.

Well, we held the redbirds scoreless...after we let them score 4 with nobody out in the 1st. Corey's non-catch looms even larger now. It happened with 2 outs and 3 runs in. It goes without saying that game 4 is a must win. I feel like we can win 2 at home if we get it back there. Winning game 5 being down 3-1 going in borders on the impossible, I think.

Seriously, if you think Morgan is slumping (but hey, so is Corey "Strikeout" Hart), why not put Gomez in? A good defensive player in an outfield that cavernous... why wouldn't you?

I'd also like to know. He used to be above average fast, now he just plods along.

If they get into a situation where why are going to intentionally walk Alberta, just plunk him instead.

Wolf needs to be on a mega short leash, with Narveson ready to go.

Interestingly, Narvenson had no problem pounding the strike zone yesterday. Why don't Yo, Marcum and Wolf just pound the zone? They are always nibbling at the outside. It's like they are afraid to throw strikes.

Marcum and Wolf threw plenty of strikes during their last outings. :p

I never understand why they count batted balls as strikes. They gotta count them as something, I guess, but it certainly seems more misleading to count them as strikes.
