Re: Bracketology

Couldn't you sub out Ferris State for Bemidji St as far as flight purposes in the St. Paul bracket? I know it'll be hard for BSU to get a #1 seed position because of a weak schedule finishing out. But if you could get SCSU, UND, and BSU as the top 3 seeds in the St. Paul bracket, that could draw a lot of people!

Yeah, there was something wrong with my script, so bracketology is:

Code:
[B]Albany Worcester Fort Wayne	St. Paul[/B]
Wisconsin St Cloud Miami Denver
Ferris St Bemidji Massachusetts	Mich St
UNH UND UMD BC
Vermont Cornell AHA Champ	Yale

Code:
[B]Albany Worcester Fort Wayne	St. Paul[/B]
Denver Wisconsin Miami St Cloud
Mich St Ferris St Massachusetts	Bemidji
BC UNH UMD UND
Yale Cornell AHA Champ	Vermont

I'd prefer the second bracket.

Re: Bracketology

I would think Wisconsin gets put in St. Paul because as they're higher in the pwr than the other bus team, St. Cloud State. Miami gets Fort Wayne because it's a bus trip. Denver to Albany and St. Cloud to Worcester.

Bemidji State would go to St. Paul as they're the highest two seed and a bus trip. Ferris State would go to Fort Wayne, I think that would still be a bus trip. It may be close though. U Mass would go to Worcester and Michigan State would go to Albany.

Minnesota-Duluth would go to St. Paul as a three seed. North Dakota goes to Fort Wayne. BC would go to Worcester and UNH would go to Albany.

Cornell goes to Albany as a fourth seed. Vermont goes to Worcester. Yale goes to Fort Wayne and AHA goes to St. Paul.

You'd have:

St. Paul
Wisconsin vs. AHA
Bemidji State vs. UMD

Fort Wayne
Miami vs. Yale
Ferris State vs. BC

Worcester
St. Cloud vs. Vermont
UMass vs. North Dakota

Albany
Denver vs. Cornell
Michigan State vs. New Hampshire

To avoid the conference match-up in Worcester, swap BC and North Dakota.

How? Because as they're lower in the PWR right now.

It works for me.

Re: Bracketology

Probably similar to 2001 (IIRC) when DU was a #1 seed, and was sent to Yost to take on Michigan.

effin michigan.

r

Unfortunately 2001 was when St. Cloud was a #1 seed and got to play Michigan in Grand Rapids. That loss still stings. Seeing anything with an "M" on their sweater lose is okay by me. :(

Re: Bracketology

Sorry, I meant higher than St. Cloud State as to who would bus to St. Paul.

The committee could decide to bus Wisconsin to St. Paul and make SCSU fly instead. I left the Huskies there for ticket sales and bracket integrity. A regional with 2 Minnesota teams and UND will be great at the box office.

Are there any tickets still available? Usually they sell out rather quickly in anticipation of the gophers making the tourney.

I've seen ads for all four regionals on the Fox Sports affiliates, so I assume so. I think the Gopher fans are more realistic about their chances ;)

Miami gets the AHA champ automatically right now no ifs and or buts because they are the top seed and would play the 16th regardless which would be AHA champ. Nothing in the bracket as it would be to pull that 1 vs 16 matchup away.

Re: Bracketology

Miami dudes right. Unless it is to avoid an interconference first round game like last year that put tOSU vs BU. That doesn't seem to be an issue right now.

Re: Bracketology

BSU probably falls to the #3 seeded section with a loss tonight to Robert Morris, any CHA losses for BSU hurts a lot and this one sure will!

Re: Bracketology

I may have to eat my words, it looks like the right teams are losing ahead of them, as they are still shown in 5th in the Pairwise. SCSU may lose to CC at last updates, still could drop though with however the Pairwise works, its beyond me on how it works and what TUC means, I'll leave it to the pros!

Re: Bracketology

The tickets to the west regional are available at ticketmaster. So far they were great tickets. Great seats available.

The loss didn't crater their RPI. They lost to the right team because they have so many games against top teams.

Re: Bracketology

Today's bracketology:

Code:
[B]Albany Worcester Fort Wayne	St. Paul[/B]
Wisconsin St Cloud Miami Denver
UMD Bemidji Massachsetts	Ferris St
BC CC Cornell UNH
Vermont Mich St AHA Champ	UND

To reduce flights for #1 seeds:

Code:
[B]Albany Worcester Fort Wayne	St. Paul[/B]
Denver St Cloud Miami Wisconsin
Ferris Bemidji Massachusetts	UMD
UNH CC Cornell BC
Vermont Mich St AHA Champ	UND

Last in: Vermont, North Dakota
Last out: Maine, Yale
Dropped out: Yale
Replaced by: Colorado College

There is a first-round WCHA matchup, because #1 Miami is not going to play the Sioux and the WCHA places 6 teams in the field.

The TUC line:

Code:
21	Lake Superior	0.5253
22	Minnesota	0.5157
23	NorthEastern	0.5155
24	St Lawrence	0.5150
25	Notre Dame	0.5132
---
26	Northern Mich	0.5121
27	AK-Fairbanks	0.5116
28	Boston Univ	0.5079
29	Ohio State	0.5078
30	NE-Omaha	0.5074
