Re: Bracketology

haha don't get me started. if we think honestly here, the beanpot isn't even really among boston teams. harvard is in cambridge, and as we all know that is NOT boston. they should include merrimack, i mean north andover is only like 25 minutes from boston!

All four rinks are within Boston city limits.

A decent chunk of Harvard is in Allston, and most of Boston College is in Brighton. Each team's rink is within the city limits as well. So: cry me a river.

Bright Center, Conte Forum, Agannis and Mathews are all in Boston.

Repetition is the key to memory storage:p

Re: Bracketology

And, furthermore, Albany is 3 miles shorter than the trips you take to CC and Denver. I highly doubt the players would be that affected by it.

Re: Bracketology

The TUC line is also worth watching, because this component has a tendency to change based on who is included and excluded from the PWR. For a while yesterday Ferris State dropped below the 10 TUC games required because Notre Dame fell out of the top 25. When NMU lost, the Irish came back into the top 25 and Ferris got their 2 wins back.

Right now the TUC line is:

Minnesota 0.5183
St. Lawrence 0.5167
Notre Dame 0.5135
---
Northern Michigan 0.5088
Nebraska-Omaha 0.5077
Rensselaer 0.5069

This line is almost as important as the cut line (currently 15th) for the NCAA tournament.

Great stuff there. I for one haven't looked at that closely, but your right it is huge. If minny drops out that would affect some teams as well I would have to imagine. As well as which CCHA team gets in as a TUC could affect Ferris or MSU depending on who gets in there between ND, NMU, and UNO.

Re: Bracketology

Everyone who's assuming higher seed = easier road, should probably review last year's regionals.

Re: Bracketology

As far as the NCAA is concerned, any trip over 400 miles is an airplane trip, and once you are on an airplane, it doesn't matter how long the trip is.

And once you get to the NCAAs, you need to beat four very good hockey teams to win the prize. There are no easy roads once you get there.

You guys and your "rational thought"... ;) :D

Spot on though.

generally its true... but people somehow forget that even in a normal year the top team has hiccups against the #7 team in their own league nevermind the #3 team in another league.
