Re: Bracketology

Today's Bracketology:

Code:
[b]
Albany Worcester Fort Wayne	St. Paul[/b]
Wisconsin	Bemidji Miami Denver
UMass St Cloud Ferris UNH
UMD BC Vermont UND
Cornell CC AHA Champ	Mich State

Last in: CC, Cornell
Last out: UMass-Lowell, Yale
Dropped out: Union, Michigan
Replaced by: Vermont, Cornell

Re: Bracketology

And Boston College is in Newton ;)

haha don't get me started. if we think honestly here, the beanpot isn't even really among boston teams. harvard is in cambridge, and as we all know that is NOT boston. they should include merrimack, i mean north andover is only like 25 minutes from boston!

I'll take Fort Wayne over those other three. Worcester looks rough. Stupid WCHA and having more than 4 teams, just throw the real 3/14 Wisco/CC matchup together ;)

I assume that my Beavers would have to finish #1 in the Pairwise to get that St. Paul regional?

All four rinks are within Boston city limits.

Re: Bracketology

The TUC line is also worth watching, because this component has a tendency to change based on who is included and excluded from the PWR. For a while yesterday Ferris State dropped below the 10 TUC games required because Notre Dame fell out of the top 25. When NMU lost, the Irish came back into the top 25 and Ferris got their 2 wins back.

Right now the TUC line is:

Minnesota 0.5183
St. Lawrence 0.5167
Notre Dame 0.5135
---
Northern Michigan 0.5088
Nebraska-Omaha 0.5077
Rensselaer 0.5069

This line is almost as important as the cut line (currently 15th) for the NCAA tournament.

A decent chunk of Harvard is in Allston, and most of Boston College is in Brighton. Each team's rink is within the city limits as well. So: cry me a river.

Sorry but I hallucinated there. I thought you said "Michigan dropped out".

Love that St Paul regional by the way. North Dakota would pile a ton of fans into the Xcel ... and for a shot at New Hampshire again.

Re: Bracketology

The pairwise is not an opinion poll; a lot more goes into it than what happened this weekend.

I suggest you check out this link and re-think the angry face.

Oh great. Now I'm getting the "simple math" lecture. Yes, I know the PWR is a computer generated ranking system. I was just hoping that taking 3 pts from Denver with the rest of our resume would help our PWR enough to leap frog them. Apparently it wasn't enough. Plenty of games left, though, like you guys said.

Bright Center, Conte Forum, Agannis and Mathews are all in Boston.

How is UMD a two seed when they are 9 in the pairwise? I thought you could be moved within the band but not outside of your band?
