Re: Bracketology II: Electric Boogaloo

I hate this one from CHW. Versions of this have been floating around all night. It's a total repeat for DU. Keep the Sioux at the X PLEASE!
Northeast Regional: (34)
#1 Boston College
#7 Minnesota Duluth
#10 Maine
#16 Air Force

East Regional: (36)
#3 Union
#6 Ferris State
#12 Massachusetts Lowell
#15 Michigan State

Midwest Regional: (34)
#4 North Dakota
#5 Miami
#11 Denver
#14 Western Michigan

West Regional: (32)
#2 Michigan
#8 Minnesota
#9 Boston University
#13 Cornell

We ultimately decided to go with these brackets for our prediction based on the Pairwise. There is a strong case that the North Dakota/Western Michigan matchup gets swapped with the Michigan/Cornell matchup. However, with Minnesota in the regional already, attendance should be strong. North Dakota's vast fanbase will travel well to Green Bay, and should also get help from Western Michigan. Ultimately, we'll find out tomorrow what actually happens. Thank you to everyone who has followed our bracketology!

I don't see putting Du in the same regional as UND - they are the only #3 seed from the WCHA so why no avoid the intra-conference game?

Re: Bracketology II: Electric Boogaloo

What do the schedules for the regionals look like?

All times Eastern
Friday/ Saturday:
Green Bay - 1:30 & 5 on Fri; 5 on Saturday
Bridgeport - 3 & 6:30 on Fri; 6:30 on Saturday

Saturday/Sunday:
St Paul - 1:30 & 5 on Sat; 5:30 on Sunday
Worcester - 4 & 7:30 on Sat; 8 on Sunday

Re: Bracketology II: Electric Boogaloo

I just cannot stop salivating over the possibility of a UND/UMN rematch next Sunday. How can the NC$$ pass that up?

Also, I have been looking at tickets, you can get tickets on the blueline still for the West Regional.. UMN has known they will play here for awhile...and they don't have prime seats sold?

Re: Bracketology II: Electric Boogaloo

LOL...Western won't travel that well. Trust me!

They traveled well to Green Bay last year (of course, not as well as the Sioux fans), and they were noisier overall in the Joe last night than UM and obviously put a boisterous 4000-5000 in the building. Hockey is the only sport of meaningfulness on a national basis at Kalamazoo, and they will be well represented if placed in Titletown. Probably led by the school's president, a very visible supporter of this growing program.

Re: Bracketology II: Electric Boogaloo

Should there be a new thread for the reaction to the Selection Show, or will we just continue here??

I saw that too -- took a quick look at ticket availability, and they have tons of beautiful seats. I guess everybody's waiting to see where they're getting sent.

For some reason, those Green Bay times are all wrong.

The correct schedule:

All Times Eastern
Friday/ Saturday:
Green Bay - 5:30 & 9 on Fri; 9 on Saturday
Bridgeport - 3 & 6:30 on Fri; 6:30 on Saturday

Saturday/Sunday:
St Paul - 1:30 & 5 on Sat; 5:30 on Sunday
Worcester - 4 & 7:30 on Sat; 8 on Sunday

BTW to say those Sunday times are stupid is a gross understatement.
