BouncyBall 2013/2014

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

Given the seedings, it is quite possible that in the Final Four we will see the Wildcats play the Wildcats to see who will play the Wildcats in the Final.

Lost Iowa State (Final 4,) Baylor (Sweet 16,) and VCU (Elite 8.)

If Utah hangs on against Stone Cold Steve Austin I'm punching a Girl Scout in the face.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

I lost Iowa State (elite 8). Looking at what others lost, my bracket may not be completely *ed.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

Every year I try to find a "blind" draw, one that lets you pick the characteristics you want in a team without knowing their names. Left me with Utah as Champion. that's why I enter two brackets every year, one with the blind draw and one that is pretty much "intuitive" (i.e. one or two steps ahead of throwing darts).

I would be worried about that Georgetown-Eastern Washington matchup as well.

I called E Wash over G-town and Austin stunning Utah.

Utah was thought to be my killer. They'd either go to the Final Four or get shocked in the first round, no in between.

I have Utah in the Elite 8.

As Fran McCaffery continues to rebuild the Iowa basketball program, the Hawkeyes look for their first NCAA tournament win since 2001 tonight. Let's GO HAWKS!

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

I'm almost afraid to mention my picks because then they'd be sure to lose.....

Yeah, right, as if there were any cosmic connection between me personally and the results. No other fan's behavior would matter, let alone the players themselves.

I can see how superstitions get started, though.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

Oh, well, at least now with my chances of winning the <strike>office pool</strike> annual basketball-themed team building event dwindling so quickly, I can revert to enjoying the games for their own sake now and not care much who wins and who doesn't.

I almost would be better off not knowing who I picked. Though maybe I have a chance for a late-round comeback if my "blind draw" bracket that has Kentucky, Arizona, Northern Iowa, and Utah in the Final Four somehow survives.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

Villanova is the first #1 seed knocked out, courtesy of NC State.

There goes the idea of Wildcats vs. Wildcats.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

The one year I broke my rule of putting MSU a round farther than I think they will go...

I like our chances against OU, and our chances against L'ville and NC State. Really the only two teams I don't want to play are Duke and Kentucky.

Of course, this team has lost four games solely due to free throws this year so any of these can be losses just as easily as wins.

UConn (women) annihilate Texas by 51. 51. The highlights were like watching a Japanese giant hornet murder a colony of European honeybees.
