Speaking of cats, One-Eyed Betty will be available to help officiate a BFB regional if needed - she'll relay news to me and I'll slowly compile the reports. These teams and the ice they'll play on are so bad, I figure we can just position her on the red line, and she can occasionally crane her head around when the action is on her blind, left-hand side. I have heard through some of the humans at the Mount Washington Observatory on the summit that Nimbus is psyched with this assignment. Nimbus never met Marty (RIP), but his humans have told Nimbus that Marty set a pretty high bar for keeping order at this event. Nimbus showed some swagger, as if to say “I got this.”

Cuyahoga County has been in touch. They have been stockpiling old mattresses and food waste to fill the flaming garbage barge to the brim for the Midwest Regional.

Mississippi called. They found 20 year old cases of Milwaukee's Best in the basement and will be making the coffee a week ahead of time.

A local gas station will be donating expired hot dogs and bean burritos.

The South Dakota DOT has informed us that they have been stockpiling roadkill to feed teams at the West Regional to be held at the I-90 Rest Area.
