Bottom Feeders 2021 ish... Yes. ish.

We know Miss Thundercat will be at the Midwest Regional, ostensibly on a much more posh vessel within view of the garbage barge.

Who gets the assignments to report on the other three regionals?

If you can take East and Fade can take West, I can take the final for the South if someone does the semi-finals.

I figured that I should post this now because I may forget it in two years, but I noted a few days ago that two years from now one of the regionals in the "other tournament" will be in Maryland Heights, MO. I nominate Maryland Heights, MD (which is where Maryland Heights should be, isn't it?) It's a rocky cliff and part of a National Park across the Potomac River from Harpers Ferry, WV. From Google Maps https://www.google.com/maps/@39.3253...!7i5760!8i2880. The photo can be rotated. The cliff should be wonderful for hockey. :-D Seriously, it has a great view of historic Harpers Ferry and the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.

Maybe someone else will remember.

Suggestions for locations for the next tournament which would have a bit of a theme to them:

West - The ruins of the abandoned Hanford High School at the Hanford site in Washington
"Midwest" - one of the random pools of what could be water next to one of the sites out in the desert in the Idaho National Laboratory (or the patch of ground that once held a nuclear reactor that blew up in 1961)
East - Inside a cooling tower at Three Mile Island (there appears to be one bean shaped pool of liquid that could be utilized)
South - The former Titan II 374-7 launch site outside of Damascus, Arkansas.
Futile Four - Inside one of the little concrete pit looking things at the McDonald Ranch house, just a few thousand feet from the Trinity Site. Or just right at the Trinity Site.

Nimbus has rolled out the red carpet for me at Mt. Washington. He also bit me when I offered treats. So everyone here will be ornery, including the officials.

A trucker has been in contact to inform the BFB that Dunleavy was dropped off at the Spring Lake, SD rest area. He's in place for the West Regional.

Have not heard screams of anguish or seen people fleeing Biloxi, so I'm left to assume Anzalone has yet to arrive at the South Regional.

First game report is in from the East.

(5) Bentley vs (12) Fairbanks

Reigning NoWINs champion Fairbanks completed the longest trip of the tournament as the first team to the top of Mt Washington, finding the weather very similar to their home in Alaska at -2 with a wind chill of 36 below. UAF coach Erik Largen immediately tried to gain favor with regional referee Nimbus by bringing a dead rat, but officials reported him for yet another recruiting violation as a result. Largen was sentenced to clean the weather sensors on top of the Observatory, and has yet to be seen again.

Bentley arrived shortly after Fairbanks, having to hoof it up the last leg of the mountain when their cabs broke down. Unfortunately for the Falcons, they couldn’t carry all their gear so they were missing key pieces of equipment. Nimbus demanded that Bentley begin play at once, so the game began with Falcon players trading sticks on the fly as they changed lines. The wind picked up and blew four Fairbanks players so far off the bench that they tumbled down the mountain road, unavailable for the rest of the game.
Filip Fornaa Svensson gave the Nanooks the lead when he tripped over one of the chains holding the Observatory down, and subsequently slid all the way into the Bentley net with the puck lodged under him. The Falcons vehemently protested, but Nimbus was unmoved and licked his privates while glaring at them in a less-than-veiled threat.

With each played only able to wear one skate due to their equipment loss, Bentley resorted to playing curling style. By pushing off with their non-skate foot, the Falcon players were surprisingly effective going forward. They tied the game and it remained 1-1 after 60 minutes. At this point Nimbus was bored and declared the winner would be decided by whichever team could prove their players came from the further total distance away from Mt Washington. Fairbanks edged ahead with their numerous players from Latvia and Sweden, but the total distance was within 1500 miles until the Falcons played their ace in the hole with grad transfer Kohei Sato from Japan. Nimbus, however, recognizing him as a former UNH Wildcat, ruled him to be from Manchester and gave the extra goal to Fairbanks.

Bentley advances to the Regional Final.

I have arrived in Cleveland. Rented a pontoon boat to take me to the garbage barge.

By "pontoon boat" I assume you mean you found two empty 55-gallon barrels (leaked out all their hazardous substances to the river) and duct taped them together to float out to the barge. Gotta watch the budgets; no extravagances.

Did JJM close the deal with the city where after the last game as a celebration Cleveland will re-light the river on fire?

The only stipulation were are still negotiating is to start the blaze DURING the regional final.

Shocking developments from Mt Washington in the East Regional!

(4) St Thomas vs (13) Princeton

Nimbus expressed his displeasure that another team named for cats was included in the regional, and immediately awarded four goals to Princeton on general principles. St Thomas was only able to score once which advanced them to the regional final with a 4-1 loss.

But the biggest news came after the 4 v 13 matchup was finished. After a lengthy review, Nimbus changed his mind on the ruling about the hometown of Kohei Sato and declared his hometown to be Rishitokyo, Japan. Fairbanks had yet to leave the observatory due to inclement weather, so they were ordered to advance instead of Bentley. The Falcons collected their lost gear and descended the mountain before a different ruling could be issued by Miss Thundercat. This set up a rematch of the NoWINs final between St Thomas and Fairbanks.

Your humble western reporter brings you the SD regional update:

As can be seen here, via SD Roads traffic camera and weather station just east of White Lake, near Plankington, present game conditions are ready, namely, 31 degrees F and winds at 27 gusting 34 mph. Optimal conditions (soft wet ice in a gale) for this event are ready. The dew point of 29F is a nice touch to add that frigid humidity feel to the wet ice.

Developments out of the Midwest:

The Commissioner realized she was out of coffee and she needed to wrap up the match between (14) LIU and (3) Colorado College up 4-3 with two minutes to play, she declared the game over and she held two middle fingers up to CC Coach Mike Haviland as he was screaming at her. She sends Princeton coach Ron Fogarty ABC gum for the error.

The Commissioner has her coffee and LIU is moving to the final.

(Miss Amber is going to work her ADHD and a brain that's betraying her in

Well of course he was cheesed off. It was supposed to be Colorado College playing LIU. You had the 3-14 matchup, not the 4-13.
