Update from the NoWinS.
The Beef & Bean Burritos from Allsup's Convenience have been delivered to tournament officials, and are rancid enough to induce gagging already. They will be stored inside the warming shack located adjacent to the ice surface until postgame distribution to teams.
The ice surface itself has been mushy at best, due to temperatures hovering in the low 40s during daylight hours.
Accommodations for the teams will be provided by Lazy Day Cabins, with additional space allocated in rented vintage RVs to be parked on the property.
"We have 7 cabins and 3 Motel Rooms ranging in price from $55 to $225/night. We also have 10 RV Spaces for $20/night or $290/month. Whether you just want to get away from the city life, hold your family reunion, or church retreat, we’ve got you covered."
A nice touch from the local organizing committee. Due to the self-imposed ban on actual highlights from any tournament games and in lieu of any large screen video display replays, the Cloudcroft Light Opera Company will be performing dramatic re-enactments of important points of each game. Any video reviews will be based on interpretations presented to the officials by the troupe. In a welcome ironic twist, this will undoubtedly lead to CLOC (Cloudcroft Light Opera Company) errors as well.
