I don't know if the loss was because of the Beanpot on Monday tbh as they looked pretty crappy against Harvard as well. Maybe we just suk again. This feels like last year when we were ranked #1 but everyone knew we were not a #1 team.

Also, stop playing Gilroy and put Hohmann out there. Hohmann has way more potential and is only a frosh.

Just great.

Another Jackie Parker ploy. Throw a game on Friday while BC blows out another team. BC is feeling great; overconfident for Monday. Jackie is going to throw the kids under the bus all night tonight, Saturday, and Sunday and probably Monday morning and afternoon. BU will be angry and hungry.

Tuesday morning headline:

Hungry Terriers bite BC; Tastes like Chicken
BU wins their 74th Beanpot

Congrats in advance.

I could be way off here, but I just can't remember the last time UMass won at BU...how long has it been?

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

10 days from now this team will be 17-12-1 and squarely on the bubble.

Sorry crowd tonight. 65% full for the "#1 team in the country".

Third home game in a row where I had to suffer with BU floundering with a center ice trap and giving up an ENG.

Congrats to UMASS. Goalie played well and they capitalized on a slew of BU turnovers and bad penalties.

Just God-awful except for Millan who I thought had a good game. Never seen either of these refs before? Have there been changes of the guard?

I hope Cain's gave away chicken tonight 'cause the Chicken Little needle around here is buried. Deep breath people. This wasn't a "trap" game or "Beanpot" let-down. They just got beat by a hungry road team that played very solid defense and got after it all night long. Could BU have played better? Of course. But they competed. It wasn't their night.

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

Lets not all start jumping off the bridge. I think everyone was a bit surprised when BU came out ranked #1 this week when probably most of us were viewing the team as good, but maybe not #1...

Take a hypothetical look at the rest of the season... Split with Lowell, Sweep UVM (we should), Split with NU. That has us at 21-11-1 and we still have to talk about Monday night.

Monday... in some way's its easy to look at BC and say they are a freight train rolling along right now, but on the other hand they have done it against UNH, Vermont and a depleted NU and when you take a look, BC didn't fare any better against Maine and UMass then we did these past few weeks. One thing is that I'm very confident that BU will come ready to play... results... no idea... could go either way.

So that puts us at either 22-11 or 21-12 and probably home ice for the Hockey East quarters.... and just like everyone else in Hockey East I'm sure we are hoping we don't draw the 5 seed or UMass. At the end of all that where do we end up? 11 or 12 in the PWR and sent out to St Paul to play Michigan? We are just going to have to wait and see.

I actually do want UMass in the playoffs (for some revenge and a chance to end their season...again).

For the revenge factor sure... but I would think that if the coaching staffs of any of the home ice teams could answer candidly... they would tell you that they would prefer Northeastern or Providence.

The jerseys they gave away tonight were pretty sweet.

My biggest issue was that there seemed to be no speed, no adjustment to the style of play that UMass was playing. Dump and chase won't work if you don't build up any speed through the neutral zone. BU cannot play like this on Monday and hope to compete. I'm hoping that it was just playing to UMass's level. The game was close, but it was sloppy and won't cut it against better teams.

Last time I remember was 2008 Ice Breaker against North Dakota. Last time I remember UMass beating BU at BU was November-ish of 2007.

Hmm ....after seeing Providence against Mack in that Sunday game i'm not so sure I 'd want them. Then they handle Maine last night.

And as much as Rawlings looked like a sieve Monday night, NU has defeated three of the top teams in the country on the road...

The only team I'd want to face is UVM and that isn't happening.

It has been a long time since I have seen BU shooters miss the net as much as they did last night. Particularly during golden scoring opportunites. It was quite frustrating to watch after a while. A little better aim last night and we are telling a different story. Let's hope the team is more "on target" Monday night.

That was my daughter! (Really)

Actually, it's my fault. I brought my friend Jud and his son. He's riding a four game losing streak. (And he was at that 0-0 debacle against Lowell a few years ago.)

Exactly. I've seen many a BU team lay an egg/coast through a game. That wasn't the case last night. I was very impressed with UMass. BU left their "finish" at home.
