Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

Re: Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

Whenever someone complains about the NU fans at a BU game, I have to remind them that we are by far their biggest rival, and a lot of idiot BU fans show up for just the BC games as well. But this is the second straight win at NU that I have seen garbage thrown at the BU players after the game. I'm fairly confident none of the posters here do it, but seriously find a way to stop it.

I think you will see it addressed in some capacity in the future. If I'm NUPD, and I see the kid who throws something, I'm dragging his *** out of there while he's whining about his "rights being violated" so everybody else can see and sending a message to everyone in the student sections that it won't be tolerated. I was a student, I sat near those types of kids at games for five years, and it's always an embarrassment.

Re: Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

did anybody get a good look at the clendening hit? i was looking at the play and didn't see it, so i was wondering how malicious of a hit it was.

funny note: after the game a nu fan promptly informed my friends and i that we should have in fact tied the game, as that scrum with 30 seconds left or whatever resulted in the puck crossing the line. i think this guy thought he could see the play better from ten rows deep than two refs could from 3 feet away

Re: Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

Oh noz! Charlie Coyle checked someone on NU! Penalty!

Did you not care to finish my quote where I questioned whether or not it was a penalty? Is that what they teach you over on Comm Ave. To read what you want?

Anyway, I was very ashamed of the moron who threw a bottle on the ice.

I think the PA guy is the same guy who does Boston Blazer games. He does the same over exaggerated calls at Blazer games that he was doing last nite.

I don't think so. He is a full time accounting professor @ NU who does the announcing for fun not for pay. I have to wonder what his accounting classes are like. I'll be that no one falls asleep.

Re: Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

Odds and ends:

1. Great win last night (thanks especially to #s 31, 17, and 28).
2. So I guess we're rooting for UNH to lose -- not that we're rooting for BC to win.
3. If Matthews can sell bottled water for $2, why is it $3.75 at Agganis?
4. BU's 6 defensemen included 2 sophomores, 3 freshmen, and #2 who is a rookie, as well.
5. And speaking of defensemen, holy smoke, did people notice the Huskie's #6? He just turned 18, he's 6'7" 240lb, and highly skilled. I don't know how I missed him earlier in the season. I understand that he chose NU because they gave him the full boat, while the Terriers only offered 3-for-4. From what I saw, I'd give him 5-for-4, if that's what it took.

Re: Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

The kids throwing the garbage on the ice was awful along with the countdown when Millan was down...Escobedo looked up as they were doing with a "***" look on his face. An injured player down because the refs waited forever to blow the whistle is not a reason to do that. It is just embarrassing for the school especially since NU was on break so it seemed to be only the "diehard" fans at the game. The "diehards" are real classy. Clendening's hit from what I read deserved the major according Boston Hockey Blog. Apparently 94 s head was down and he just hit him. I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of those where Clendening looked at him and his head was up but by the time he hit him his head was down again. Either way sounds like they got that call right.

The people who threw foode on the ice were not diehards. They were off in the far end of the Dog House acting like morons all game. The police finally told them to shutup at one point. I hope they caught the punks who threw the stuff. That's not The Dog House. That's repulsive.

As for the TKO, as I said earlier, tasteless no question, but at no point did Millan look anything more than rattled. Had he been there barely moving instead of being able to get up on his own, would not have been any chants.

Your post lost its merit when you said Coyle checked him, which I still cannot figure out how to physically accomplish while both hands are on a puckhandling stick the whole time.

You're all doctors now too? You know when a guy is actually injured or not? Warsofsky suffered his concussion against PC unbeknownst to anybody in the arena. I'm glad you all weren't there to diagnose him after the fact based on what you saw from the stands. Unwritten rule is, guy down on the ice, trainer out, polite silence until he's back up.

"tasteless no question" ...I was rationalizing why the Dog House leaders went on with the TKO chant. I clearly showed in multiple posts that I was not pleased with the chant.

Re: Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

As for the fans, every fanbase has idiots. The people over there were tools and I'm pretty sure it was one bottle before any BU players were leaving. I saw the kid, it was some stupid tool and we called him out for being a joke.

I definitely saw 2 thrown, and was pretty sure I saw a third, not 100%. Maybe they were the same guy, maybe you have a copycat idiot.

The people who threw foode on the ice were not diehards. They were off in the far end of the Dog House acting like morons all game. The police finally told them to shutup at one point. I hope they caught the punks who threw the stuff. That's not The Dog House. That's repulsive.

Put it this way. I have been to over 200 hockey games in 22 arenas. In over 200 games in 21 of those arenas I have seen trash thrown on the ice after a game once. In 5 games at Matthews I have seen it twice. A third time was brought up in this thread. It may not be a daily occurrence but it is enough of a statistical outlier that if your rationale is "That's not Dog House" you're in denial and will never be a part of the solution to a problem that is real.

I think you will see it addressed in some capacity in the future. I hope you see the kid the next time it happens (since sadly I'm expecting a next time) kudos kc.

Re: Boston University vs Northeastern 3/4 and 5

BU blew their chance to take control of the game early and NU just played harder/better in the third. NU deserved the W.

Ready for three more?

No I'm not ready for three more. This team has not played with a sense of urgency all year. You just said it - NU just played harder... That's inexcusable in a game that you need to win. It's hard to be optimistic about where this team is headed.

Costly game for BU on 2 fronts. A much more difficult matchup in qtrs and could take alot of them even if they win. PWR issue with another loss to a weaker team has dropped them out of the tourney as of today. On senior night to be creamed down the stretch and to be goaded into goonery says alot about the leadership on the ice and behind the bench. This is a very dysfunctional team on and off the ice. Chiasson has probably been BU's most impressive forward this year but he has nothing between the ears.

OK so I just read the recap and am thoroughly confused by something. Sounds like Witt played great, but there is no mention of why Rawlings didn't play. Injury? Resting him for playoffs? And then Parker says he doesn't think they'll see Witt again. My question would be why the hell not?? Haven't NU fans been disappointed with Rawlings in big games?
