Boston University Terriers 2015-2016 Season Thread Part the 1st

It has been suggested that it's in the pipeline, but I don't know who's available.

Do we have a recruit in the ushl who has already graduated high school who the coaches think is now ready?

Regarding Roberto, my guess is that is an NCAA eligibility issue regarding something very foolish that he did in the offseason.

Similar to Kurker, Greer needed a year of development before coming to BU. Greer certainly seems to have more upside than Kurker, but it will be interesting to see how he does post-Q.

It really shouldn't be surprising. I think any time a Canadian kid goes the NCAA route, if at any point he feels that expectations for him and by him are not being met (regardless of whose "fault" it is), it is only natural to be thinking about changing course. It does hurt that it is mid-year, but BU will survive.

Also wonder if the BU staff thought this was ever a real possibility and what, if anything did Colorado have to do with AJ's decision. IMO he was probably frustrated by a lack of offensive production and may have received questionable advice to satisfy his frustrations. I strongly believe he had the potential to break out into a significant offensive contributor at BU if he continued working hard and being patient.

Patrick Roy spent eight seasons as coach, GM and part owner of the Quebec Remparts. Wouldn't be surprised if he had a hand in this. Also interesting is that Peter Fish, a former teammate of Quinn and Young, is Greer's advisor, or at least he was when AJ committed to BU.

I don't think so. None of the three 2016 recruited forwards has finished high school. One of the former DFP writers tweeted that it is supposedly an older player and another source close to the program indicated the player being considered has Ivy caliber grades. No names available yet.

Doherty? Former brown commit

Good call. He fits a couple of the criteria. 20 years old. Ivy League grades.

Anyone know why he pulled out of Brown? Currently 2 PPG with the Junior Bruins and played with Ryan Cloonan.

File under the folder of wild speculation: He heard in the fall from Cloonan that Roberto likely wasn't coming back and there would be an opening second semester and was interested to come. So left Brown before he played a game so he wouldn't have to sit out a year.

Mookie, based on your views on mcavoy...he must be REALLY impressing over a few days as casey fitzgerald was cut and has been great so far for BC.

Re: Boston University Terriers 2015-2016 Season Thread Part the 1st

There were rumors earlier in year that BC might be looking at doherty

The All Integrity Team:
Jeremy Bracco
AJ Greer

Who else makes the list?

From what i read (limited) something happened with doherty and brown. It wasn't tour typical back out and go to bigger program. Haven't heard anything about him in a while so not sure if BC is still interested or if they ever were to begin with.

Are we really concerned about replacing 4 goals over a season and a half? Ahti being out is a much bigger deal.

Whether Ahti, Grzelcyk, and to a slightly lesser extent Olsson can return healthy basically is the difference between this team having a shot at getting to the tournament and having the chance to make some noise, or whether they fizzle out finish about 18-16 and miss the tournament.
