Boston University Terriers 2015-2016 Season Thread Part the 1st

I agree with whoever said that he is likely gone, given the denial comments - if they're having discussions, that means he wants to leave. Is it possible that the Ahti injury could make them rethink? Perhaps.

Another name other than Coyle to remember is Wesley Myron. I bet he wishes he stuck it out, at least he could have a degree. But he was a lower level pick.

Greer >>> Myron

OK, and I don't necessarily disagree even though the statistics are probably skewed towards the CHL ... if he knew this, then why commit to and go to BU for a year plus?

I agree with you. I just think the kids initially believe they are taking the safe college route. Then they hear more and more about the peak ages of pros (24-25) and many of their peers moving on to the pro game and they start to think they should bolt and get on with the grind of chasing the dream. I still believe there is definitely a bias in the NHL towards the CHL players and i think the kids see that as well. I totally root for the Dekeyser's and the Gostisbehere's though :)

Changing the subject... Any prognosis or thoughts from anyone who knows on 7 or 25's chances of sticking with US Jr team?

Werek played junior A with Trivino and wanted to play college hockey until OHL scouts convinced his father that playing his draft season in the USHL would be a disaster. When he decommitted, BU recruited Chiasson. Werek is in the ECHL today; Alex has reached a higher level. Esposito never was coming to BU. A straight money play and the Remparts paid. Now in Italy.

He's gone.

As a NoDak fan who could really care less about either Boston school... this kid is a POS if he leaves. Guys that bail on their teams halfway through a season are gutless, greedy @h0les that you are better off without anyway.

mookie turned on 'an inconvenient truth' (which could double as the name of the season highlight film :( )

Unless of course the kid's academic acumen was shall we say sub-par. In which case, the only choice that exists, is to leave. Speaking hypothetically.

I guess you would call it official now. Who was saying BU as stocking up on too many forwards?

I'm surprised this was in doubt since this team he went to had the official announcement on the front page of their website for days now. It's too bad, but as some others have said, he wasn't all that productive for your team and if he wasn't "all in" your team is probably better off.

That team he just went to is one of the best in the CHL this season, the chance for him to go home to Quebec, put up better numbers and have a realistic chance to play for a Memorial Cup was probably hard for him to resist.

What a disappointment.

Very. Seemed like the rare higher-end Canadian kid who supposedly felt college hockey was the best option for his hockey growth. Just wonder when the seeds were planted in his head that BU was no longer the best place for him to develop. From my perspective there seemed to be zero signs that he was considering jumping ship and there was no speculation until the report broke yesterday.

Also wonder if the BU staff thought this was ever a real possibility and what, if anything did Colorado have to do with AJ's decision. IMO he was probably frustrated by a lack of offensive production and may have received questionable advice to satisfy his frustrations. I strongly believe he had the potential to break out into a significant offensive contributor at BU if he continued working hard and being patient.
