Re: Boston University season thread 4: Where BC comes to talk hockey

Did he then apply when Lenny quit? Why didn't he get the job then? -THIS is the one that was f ed up that we are talking about

Maybe he was still under contract at BG in 92 and wanted to finish it, in the meantime AD Flynn allows assistant Cedorchuk to take the reins and we all know what happened and what a setback it caused the program for years.

Re: Boston University season thread 4: Where BC comes to talk hockey

That's how I see this playing out. Parker and Powers (combined age = 190) both retire, Bavis stays put for one year. Quinn brings in his own guy for the other assistant job. Bring back Kenny Roche baby! Anyway, I can't see Quinn wanting to inherit half of his staff and keep the guy on beyond next year but who knows - maybe it ends up working out.

Perhaps you mean Kenny Rausch, and not Employee #6, who was working construction from what I've heard.

Re: Boston University season thread 4: Where BC comes to talk hockey

I was only talking about 72' when he was assistant coach at Clarkson. Flynn told him he didn't have any HC experience and when his coach (Ceglarski) left Clarkson for BC, he took over as HC at Clarkson.

I saw the same interview or read the same article Ray.........

How is this for an opinion on Bavis / Powers?

In Quinn we trust... if he thinks its a good move to keep them, then its a good move. :)

Haven't heard any player or recruit feedback on change impacting their decision to stay/come.

Has there been any chatter on the subject?

I don't want to rain on the parade here but considering that it's been almost a full week now, shouldn't someone start a BU offseason thread? You could even steal a clever slogan that BC fans recently came up with in February and put it in the title for your new coach!!

I'm not sure what is more adorable:

1. That you think we hadn't heard Quinning before BC said it.
2. That BC fans are now bragging about their original cutesy "fanboy" player nicknames that everyone wants to copy.
3. That it bothers you enough that some BU fans said Quinning that you had to post about it in our thread.

Agreed. I can't imagine how much quicker BC would have started having success, under Coach York, had he not walked into the mess he did. Perhaps, right from the get-go. Maybe he has those 2 or 3 extra players to have put BC over the top in 1998, 1999 and/or 2000.

No no. Reflect on the past and look ahead to the future w this offseason tread title. Given that winning trophies hasn't been prevalent in a while and the program became defined by the rampant diving/embellishments and sexual assaults, I think the following would work.

BU hockey offseason thread: Quinn makes big splash, will rape the competition.

I'd prefer "Bruce Milton the competition"..
