Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

BU women are going to the Frozen Four next year.

Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

They are having a better summer than the Celtics did in 2007. Loaded for bear.

Continuing the theme of things that are more related to women's hockey, but that people here may find interesting:

Three stages of the rink floor reconstruction so far, also note the new opening in the wall past section 7 (purpose unknown to me).

So I take it that means the concrete and paint won't come up in spots under the ice any more? When I was in the hockey FitRec classes, it was nearly impossible to skate in there in April!

Depends on if they give lessons to the ice guys (according to the Agganis ice guys).

So, according to the guys who botched their own ice this year causing a week plus worth of practice to be moved to WBA, the people working WBA's ice aren't good at their job? Hmm, no offense to you, mwade, but I'm not biting.

I have a quick question on recruits and incoming freshman. Is there any "deadline" date that we will know for sure who is coming, sort of like national signing day in Football. I figure with guys playing Juniors the process is a little different, so is thee any way to know or just wait until September and see who is on campus

The athletic department announces all the teams' recruiting classes sometime over the summer. It might be a little later than usual this year, though.

More like "just wait until October and see who is on the ice." Especially with that twit Clendenning in the mix.

You just never know even if they show up on campus. Look at that goalie BU had a few years ago who bolted after a few weeks on campus(Sebastian Laplante?). And Kenny Ryan last year at BC. Jeremy Roenick at BC was another legend.

That's about right, it almost doesn't matter who comes to campus in the Fall, it is who shows up for the first practice.. I think the real risk is Clendening. It wouldn't shock me to see him bolt for OHL juniors before the fall. Depends on the deal he's offered and by whom (even though London owns his rights today).

Dear Mookie,

The 2010-11 Men's Ice Hockey Season is not to be missed--a talented roster and an exciting schedule are going to make this another great year to be a Terrier Fan!

The schedule includes 18 regular season games featuring Hockey East rivals New Hampshire and Maine, as well as 2 home games each against Northeastern, Vermont and Boston College!

Now is the time to secure your tickets for the 2010-11 season.

  :p

I take it they received your less than positive responses in the survey they sent out;) :p

So, it will be 2 at Agganis next year, meaning BC lost a home game for the Fenway game.

Meh, I like games at Agganis better... BC seems to have an atrocious record against BU at Conte, but a very good one at Agganis (5-1-1 all time, if I recall correctly). :)

BC has done very well at HHA, but I can recall at least 2 BU victories, Dec. of 2005 and Jan. of 2009.

Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

BU is 2-5-1 all-time vs. BC at Agganis. On a tangent, I cannot locate my 09-10 media guide. I knew I'd probably throw away something valuable while cleaning my room before move-out. :(

Edit: But I do have Notre Dame's 09-10 media guide and North Dakota's 09-10 postseason media guide. Fantastic. Glad I'm so organized.

Mookie mentioned the same thing to me about a month ago, but how sure are either of you, and how do you know?

Wasn't that all discussed when they announced the Fenway game last year? I thought BC got compensated for their loss of a home game.
