Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

While it wasn't pretty, good to finish the sweep
- I was very impressed with Carpenter (I haven't watched a live game in a while). While I know he has been getting goals, and he has shown all season that he is a hustler, I saw much improved skill level and confidence. I think he could turn into a very good player for this team.
- McAvoy had a very rough first shift or two, then turned things around.
- Related, there were periods of complete domination in the offensive zone.
- On the flip side, the d-zone obviously needs some work. UML will put those chances in the net.
- That said, I feel we have a good shot to get to the Garden. This is a talented team, and if JFK can play the way he did last night, that top line will be tough to contend with.

I hadn't been to a live game in a while, either. In addition to Bobo, the transformation of Greenway is a sight to behold. Absolutely physically dominant. Assuming he's back next year, I fear he's going to get the Mike Grier treatment from the refs.

Interesting you say that as with his penalty Saturday night Greenway passed Grier's freshman penalty stats:

Greenway, 36gp, 25/58
Grier, 39gp, 24/56

Yeah, he already gets that treatment. At least from some referees (Miller). I hope he returns. He may be physically dominant already, but I think he has plenty of work to do on his goal-scoring skills.

Greenway was 0-2-2 in his 1st 13 games. Since Red Hot Hockey he's 5-18-23 in 23 games. His primary assist on the O'Regan goal in the 2nd was manly.

I don't think we have to worry about him going pro just yet, there's some things he could certainly improve upon. That said, he has the potential to be the most dominating player in the nation if he continues to develop at this pace and most certainly would not be here beyond three years. At the rate they're improving, McAvoy, JFK, and Greenway have the potential to be on par or even better than the fall 07 freshmen trio of Shattenkirk, Wilson, Bonino.

Exactly- ridiculous that every team makes it
1100 at Northeastern
1752 at BU
2200 at Merrimack
4,000 at UConn- buzz over 1st playoff home game

I think this is smallest crowd ever at Agannis
In terms of percentages of capacity, Merrimack's attendance is actually pretty decent and game three was nearly a sell-out, I believe.

It was pretty packed last night. Lots of kids and families, decent student attendance. A fair crowd from UNH too but not nearly as many as have traveled in past years, plus no cowbell or band, overall pretty subdued.

Fudduckers was also fairly busy pre-game too.

Speaking of bands, the BU Band Twitter account seemed to imply they'll be traveling to Lowell for the game(s?).

BU Band IS traveling to Lowell this weekend.

There are enough of them around even with spring break. They were able to make two bands for both UMass and WHEA tourney this past Saturday.

Yeah, since HE pretty much runs the show for the playoffs, we have to be subjected to the visiting team's band. :D Two years ago, everyone around us was wondering why Vermont's band was at the Tsongas for the playoff series and this is what we were told.

Anything taking time away from UML's band in Tsongas is a travesty.

Agreed. UML's band will overpower BU's band anyway but still an annoyance the visiting team gets to have their band in our rink. :p

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

The only way you might be correct is if the numbers are low due to it being spring break. Your band is no louder than BU's.
