Jofa you know as well as anyone jerry sets goals and expects his teams to win championships. His boys get it.

They will be busting *** to win and not "co-champ" with PC

Coach Dan Quinn has the boys looking sharp tonight, especially blueliners Somersby and Fortunada. If Yakov Karlsson can get a goal tonight, those Boston University Terriers might have a shot to win.

Unfortunately Jofa was right this time. Oh well, time for 2 Ws against ZooMass.

I assume you are watching the BU game? Lowell is a good team and very tough at home. BC was without White. They wanted to win this game.

Not my point. The "motivation" thing is overrated. I'm reading all this stuff last night and saying to myself that it doesn't matter what York says. Players are self-motivated and know which are the most important games. They don't have to be told. The game was more important for Lowell...period. They may SAY that they "gave it their all," but the only ones who know that are the players. Conversely, you may actually think you are giving everything you have, but subconsciously you have another level that you are not going to, because it's not quite the right time. They could be playing "hard" but they're not going to risk injury when they know down deep that it's not "that" important. You pick your poison and live to play another day...was BU "motivated" last weekend when they sleptwalked through two games against UNH? They may "say" they were, and maybe they THOUGHT they were, but they obviously didn't play like you just saw last night and tonight.

Well, more importantly was the Terriers played two really GOOD games back to back on the road. Jeff Jackson teams are tough to play against anyway, and when Peterson is playing like he did tonight, it is VERY difficult to beat them. BU carried the play for large stretches of the game but just couldn't get the equalizer. No complaints about this one...

I would say BU played better tonight in the L than the night before with the W. Funny game.

I'll admit that I didn't phrase that correctly. The "or not" was simply referring to the fact that BC didn't win the game, not about the effort. It was misleading. On the other hand, these guys let me know when I'm not right, so, you get the point... :)

True...but that's the kind of difference it makes when a goalie stands on his head. An argument can be made that a bye (and, subsequently in this format, two weeks off) is not the best thing in the world when you're playing well. (OK...maybe not, but I'm making the argument anyway :D)

Three scenarios get BU a bye, only one drops them to 5th. Which naturally happens. If they held on last weekend or beat Merrimack or UVM or UConn, they're not in this position.

Nine minutes in and the U-18 team is outshooting ASU 8-2. In case you're interested.

More importantly, BU played a solid two games on the road against a very good team. Breaks go as they go, no use if this and if that.

Yes...and when I brought that up after last weekend ("Is there a motivation issue with this team?") I got crucified on this board...

That's because what you said is totally different from what I just posted.

How? They should have won all of those games, but at least two of them (even one would have been enough). And besides, that was my whole point about this BC/Lowell thing. You can't be great every night. It's impossible. (OK - not worded well - I can hear the snickering now) That's why it's sports - not a Broadway musical - we don't know the outcome in advance. That's why we watch.

I said nothing about it being a motivation thing. My statement was more rolling my eyes and being annoyed at the team.

Also, Clayton Keller just committed a penalty but ASU has a terrible power play so worries. Not to be outdone, Kiefer Bellows just did something stupid as well.
