I though Greenway was the best forward for BU (other than losing his cool during the rough stuff). His back-checking was immense - there must have been 5 times where he came to get the puck as the defensemen were trying to stay with onrushing BC forwards, and curled up ice with it. If he can play like that the rest of the season we will be in great shape.

Did the 4th line play a single shift? Moran obviously played a lot, but did Phelps or Kelley play at all?

Kelley played when Greenway was in the box.

Tv game. BC used 3 lines as much as possible although it'd be nice to have TOI numbers.

Moran was out for a good number of shifts for BU, don't remember Phelps out once. Kelley served Greenway's first penalty and was on the ice after he got out of the box for a half a shift. Nearly gave up multiple dangerous opportunities, made a diving hustle play to clear a puck, got off the ice and never came back. It was clear he could not keep up in that game physically or with the overall speed. Moran did a nice job, and if he weren't out for the year Olsson would've seen a good amount of time. Don't know why Phelps was so absent, he's had some good shifts this year.

Don't forget there was a baked-in 30-minute rest in the first, all of the TV timeouts, and at least on the BU side, Greenway had 14 minutes of extra rest so rolling three lines plus one guy on both sides was doable. That's part of what made the game so great, both sides were putting out their best, not sacrificing a shift, and using breaktime like a chess match. BC really started to look gassed at the end of the third where our guys still had some step, I thought the last 5:00 of the third was BU's best opportunity. Credit to them and York refocusing and reenergizing during the OT intermission.

Anyone else wondering why Greenway got 10 minutes? Watching the replay at home, it is clear that he didn't need to skate in front of Demko like he did, however Demko initiated the contact with his arm to protect himself which is his right and probably a natural instinct. I thought the play warranted two on Greenway. Don't know if he said something in the scuffle afterwords. I know Quinn said that Greenway's penalty isn't the reason BU lost, but it sure would have been nice to see if his presence on the ice would have led to some offensive opportunities for BU.

they didn't call/announce any specific penalty but looking back i think it was for ripping Fitzgerald's helmet off

If Maguire's healthy last season they win the NC.

Up for debate. O'Connor didn't make it a habit to throw a puck into his own net until the NC. Who is to say Maguire wouldn't do it as well?

Nick is right. OC played awesome last year except for a collective 8 sec.

Maybe Sean lets in a goal. Who knows

OC stepped up last season and played very well as a whole. Having said that, if Maguire was healthy last season, I wouldn't have been surprised if he won the starting job as the season progressed.

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 2-move along! nothing to see here! all is w

When they shared the pipes two years ago I thought Maguire was better than OC. OC really fixed some of his problems from two years ago of sealing off the post when the puck was behind the goal line. He really was ridiculously impressive last year. Maguire seems to have upped his game as well. Certainly both guys can say they developed while at BU.

Yeah, OC was awesome last year. His three gaffes in the NCAAs (only one really costing them) were a blemish on an otherwise spectacular season. I feel like Maguire right now is playing as well as OC did at his best last year, but I don't think he is markedly better. I hope I'll think so in a few weeks!

Maguire's upward trend in play this year has been remarkable. His even strength sv pct. since the QU game, the last time I saw it, was somewhere at or above .950.

Was about to reply "Not as likely as another Miles Wood suspension" and lo and behold:

Boston College's Wood Suspended One Game

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Hockey East has suspended Boston College forward Miles Wood (Manchester, Mass.) for one game stemming from an incident involving head contact at the 15:44 mark of the first period Monday, February 8 in the Beanpot championship game against Boston University. Wood will miss Friday’s (Feb. 12) game against Merrimack. He will be able to return to the Eagles’ lineup Saturday (Feb. 13) when Boston College hosts the Warriors.

Of course, right after I delete the game from my DVR and can't see what happened. I was thinking after the game Monday that it had looked like that York had successfully reined Wood in. Guess not.

Funny, this didn't come up in the whining over missed penalty calls against BU. :)

Agreed. Unfair to OC to play the what if game with Maguire. OC was stellar last year and unfortunately made a monumental mistake in the NC. Who knows if Maguire even gets them that far? Incomparable situations.
