Are you sure they didn't go last night? Seems to happen more and more. Umass was out here night before playing BC

Agreed more teams are doing this. I think BU did head out to Amherst last night.

Last season they made the trip out there on game day and barely made it on time; it was Friday of Columbus Day weekend and it took ~4 hours from Boston. I think after that experience they've even opted to travel the night before Friday road games (even to destinations as close as Providence) to avoid Friday afternoon traffic and enable the team to have as normal a pre-game routine as possible.

I also believe many of BU's classes are now on a Mon-Wed or Tue-Thu schedule, so leaving Thursday afternoon/evening doesn't have the same impact on classes as it used to.

Well, I'm glad they did. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how many fans can get out there. I was thinking of going but that's impossible now. We have nine inches of heavy, wet snow and it's still coming down like crazy with strong winds drifting it all over the place. Will take hours to clean up. Amherst is only an hour for me, but tonight it would be four...

Where did this storm come from???? I left the office Tuesday after checking the weather, both for my flight out on Wednesday and my flight home next Wednesday and there was nothing on the forecast about this!!! Looks pretty bad. Glad I'm here in Seattle. It's sunny and about 50. I'm pretty sure the team went out yesterday. I'm not sure about the Freep kids. I was planning to follow the live blog from here - I wonder if they will make the trek. I may just have to listen to Bernie and Tom on the internet radio. Provided they made it, of course.

And now they are back to predicting a storm for Monday night! Oy. Though it kinda sounds like it will be more on Tuesday so it shouldn't affect the game. I think.

Are you saying that hockey players missing class might have driven travel options in the past? :eek::eek::p

The drive up Route 2 to Amherst was the easiest and quickest I've ever made it to UMass on a Friday. Sun was out 10 minutes after we left Boston. Easy as pie.

mookie is beginning to accept the fact that the boys have a date with umass again in the first rd of hea playoffs. just hope they don't have to travel to south illinois 2 out of 3 weeks :eek:

Well, you do take the train southeast out of Chicago. He probably meant. . . just hope they don't have to travel to south Chicago 2 out of 3 weeks.

If BU wins their remaining HE games they will finish in the top 4 and have a first round bye. Are you saying that you don't think the team will be able to do that?

certainly hope they pull it off. but 2 @nd and h/h with umlol will be hard pickings

I've been under the assumption that we'll lose both at Notre Dame. I am desperately hoping we can avoid needing to go there again for the playoffs.
