While that's very true, I think Rosen has been a big and pleasant surprise at center. Great checking line guy who also won more than his share of faceoffs. Let's not forget that he was a career dman until sophmore year at BU with no forward, much less center, experience at all until then. My question is why aren't the other "career" centers doing better?

It seems to me that face-offs are one of the areas of the game that a player can clearly improve on if they dedicate the time to it. It's all about technique, so why not spend the off-season getting better at it if you expect to play pivot the next season.

Faceoffs kill me. Especially when they go on a power play. They invariably lose that draw, the puck leaves the zone and they lose 30 seconds of the advantage.

BU SID just tweeted that the 9 man incoming class will be announced later this week. How many of these 9 have we already accounted for?

Good info, and seems like a good pick up. McLaughlin says he was 66th on Central scouting's list for euro skaters.

Just curious if anyone has any insights as to why the kid goes from being ranked 66th by CS to undrafted. Kind of a plummet no?

Sorry about that. Swedish, Finnish or Norwegian, it doesn't much matter. I can't understand a word of any of their languages. Sounds like you got exactly what you needed. Given his age and background, I'd expect he'll adjust to our league faster than most freshmen.

Clever, but it begs for a pause, which makes it a tough as a nick name. Didn't Denver have an "Anti Loksanen" or something that sounded like that? This guys' name sounds similar.

I'm just going to call him "the Big Russian" as a group of us called Ahola, after the Kevin Nealon SNL skit where he rips his arms off trying to lift a barbell. THe commentator says something like "that's going to hurt the big Russian". I'll see if I can dig it up on YouTube.
