No really miss this game--always had a large group- Ate at Charley's kitchen when at Harvard
They initally moved the harvard game to 1/14 when they were considering it as a fenway game
Is it still on that date or back to 1/4

Still 1/14 as far as i know

may have been a good thing we didn't get harvard tonight! ;)

"We absolutely gave [the game] away,” said UNH head coach Dick Umile. “We get a 4–0 lead and start going through the motions. We thought it would be an easy night. It’s pathetic.”

From USCHO's recap of Tuesday night's UNH - Harvard game. Sound familiar?

There is a small bit of comfort knowing that we are not the only ones it happens to!

Might be indicative of just how different it is to motivate today's college hockey players than it used to be.

I'm sure the Yale coach is thinking the same thing after losing to 0-11 Sacred Heart last night. That one is even worse than BU's loss to Holy Cross.

Hope all that made the trip, of which I am not one, are having a great w/e in NYC.

Just a few thoughts from the game now that I've actually had time to reflect back on it.

1) Why would Parker switch up Gill and Chiasson on the lines when we're on a 3 game win streak? Made absolutely no sense to me when I saw the line charts and makes even less sense now in retrospect seeing how those lines played. They were really starting to build some nice chemistry IMO.

2) This game was way closer than it should've been but I give a lot of credit to Cornell's goaltender. Kid can play and kept them in the game. He did, however, give up some juicy rebounds but from what I can recall, our guys were in no position to get to them either because they had overskated or had a Cornell player draped all over them.

3) Kieran looked good and seemed to handle the countless number of scrambling/messy/no one has any idea wth the puck is situations in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Credit to the defense in front of him for being able to find the puck before the Cornell players in most of those situations.

4) Speaking of defense, wasn't impressed with #4. I forgot which period it was in but there was a play where a Cornell player easily deked around him in our defensive zone and it brought flashbacks of that Vermont goal where he ended up sprawled down on the ice. We survived it in the UVM game but I hate to see a breakdown like that burn us in a big game like it almost did last night.

All in all though, really enjoyed the game. Hope we can keep things going against BC :D.

In the last three games Kieran has allowed just two goals. Apparently Cornell's goal went in off Coyle's skate. The goal that UNH scored last week took a funny dip, as if it hit someone as well. Hope he stays hot.

Funny to follow the blog last night. Someone was tearing his (her?) hair out when the fourth line made an OT appearance. It seemed to work out, though. Is the video posted anywhere?

I want to say kudos to the student section. I didn't really notice a "student section" for Cornell. Of course, they did have a gajillion fans there, but I didn't really notice anything organized. I absolutely loved "It's big. It's red. It's probably infected" chant. Need to remember that one if we ever play them again. :)

Any video out there on Gaudet's goal? It was such a bang bang play, happened so fast.

+1 too bad they were stuck kind of under that overhang and setback so they were kind of stuck in a box, but they held their own. And no, I've searched quite a bit for any highlights and have found nothing. Pretty crappy considering it was on a major tv network too.

Kudos, too, to the band, which entertained the prep rally atttendees before the doors opened and throughout the pep rally, before their game duties began. I asked one band member if he was ready for a battle of the bands. His prophetic reply: "It'll be no contest."

Just watched the replay on MSG. Nicastro wasn't shooting at the goal; it was a slap-pass to Gaudet who, with his back to the net, tipped the puck between his legs and up into the top corner. A very slick deflection. Gaudet did a nice job on the post-game interview with Al Trautwig.
