Silly question, but with Coyle & Trivino leaving, can the second half of this year's scholarship go to someone else. Is there someone "waiting in the wings" playing junior hockey that was supposed to start next season that may want to come on now? I know we have had a few players before start second half. (Degerman?)

You are free to believe what you want but in this case you have to consider which people have the motivation to back track on things that happened or were said yesterday. Obviuosly greatly facilitated by coyle choosing to lie to the paper.

Now we are stuck with people masquerading as journalists arguing semantics of a 5 word tweet from a high schooler about what verb tense he used and whether or not he was 110% accurate at the moment he said it or if he just made a lucky guess since exactly what he reported was re-reported today as official.

not sure about the possibility of it, but if it were to occur, the player would use up an entire year of eligibility, correct? seems more likely that Gill and/or Conno move back to center while hoping that santana can get healthy

Are the players wrong as well. Stand behind your players and dont kick them under the bus, time and time again. this isnt the first time

Well if it is someone who was just going to stay a couple years then explore his other professional options while giving a pass to class work---- I'd say we have a match made in heaven!!

for what it's worth, BHB tweeted that they just spoke to Coyle and he said he was still with BU as of right now. don't think too many people still believe him, though

It certainly has to be mentioned that there is some irony here for kicking Andy Glass off the team because he was in the library studying for finals during a voluntary workout and now Coyle didn't seem to want to study at all for his finals and wasn't going to make the grades. Now they're both gone!

It's all about recruiting. At this point, Parker just needs to recruit those kids that are so smart they won't have to spend time studying. They can just show up for the tests, ace them, and then everyone wins. Of course, they would have to avoid 4 alcohol-related violations too. But assault and battery with a dangerous weapon is ok as long as it is the first offense. Kids like that don't grow on trees you know!

This story is incredibly perplexing. Charlie has to know that this information has come out, I'm sure BU's media relations knows the cat is out of the bag, why even bother taking phone calls from reporters, and then offer a comment that directly contradicts reports from a reputable news source. At this point, I now don't believe Coyle.

Interesting last couple of days...

Trivino getting (rightfully) booted off the team will hurt as he along with Connolly and Nieto are impact players. Coyle? Gimme a break. Small wonder why he wants to play with easier competition because he's done nothing to distinguish himself here. I think Fidel Nicastro has talent too, but he rarely makes use of it on the ice and if he got bounced tomorrow (WARNING: I HAVE NO INSIDE INFO ON THIS AND AM JUST USING A RANDOM PLAYER AS AN EXAMPLE, UNLESS IT TURNS OUT TO BE TRUE IN WHICH CASE I WILL TAKE FULL CREDIT;)) it wouldn't change BU's outlook for the rest of the year one bit.

Next, players complaining about how Trivino was treated are ***** idiots. No more needs to be said, and anybody having a problem with that can follow him out the door if they'd like. Parker still did the right thing here.

Lastly, regarding journalism - I'm not aware of any of the BC or BU bloggers/student reporters/etc actually drawing a paycheck for their work. There's probably a reason for that, and I'm not sure what a "scoop" like this is worth frankly. Hardly Woodward & Bernstein uncovering Watergate type stuff here, although you wouldn't know that from reading this thread. :rolleyes:

Seems like BHB isnt asking the question right. You remember the scene in All the Presidents Men with Deep Throat.. after Woodward reported bad info in the Post, Deep Throat says something to Woodward like "you didnt ask me the right question" then Woodward goes berserk on him

Looks like to go along with being a noticeable disapointment on the ice the kid has a ton of character to boot.
