Re: Boston University 2011-2012: Part The Sixth

My love of attractive women extends far beyond my dislike for BU.

That being said her skin looks like effing leather at what 19?

Could two years at bu have aged her that much? Surely there must be a more flattering picture of her. Perhaps there is one of her showing a hockey recruit around campus.

Not to be a d1ck but if that's the best the US has to offer it's no wonder we're falling behind

If that is the worst picture you can find of her let us fall behind....

I'm not very excited about this year's team. I'm also down on the program considering the recent on and off-ice results and issues. Can a BU fan give me a reason to get excited again????

I fear I've had enough.

As down as I've ben on the program and the coach, I still get pretty fired up for a new season, regardless of the outlook. I always hold out hope that the stars will align and we'll bring home some hardware. Granted, it has become a rarer and rarer occurrence. But my love for the sport and seeing the scarlet and white on the ice will always bring me back.

As far as what to get excited about, for me, I guess the fact that Kurker is coming after all, and coming this year, is the main thing. It seemed a forgone conclusion on these boards that he was going to go elsewhere, and the fact that he is going to be on the squad this season is a positive. Also, two freshmen goalies - our last two titles have been won with freshmen in net.

What off-ice issues? Didn't you hear, all of the BU players were innocent!!!!!!!!!

Just a gut feeling but I think BU is going to be a surprise this year.

Cheer up! Hit the Refresh button.

A terrific recruiting class coming in, a nucleus of good players coming back. A lot of uncertainty, but a potentially very high ceiling.

To the people that would like to see Parker retire -- he's not going anywhere as long as the talent is coming in that will make/keep BU a national contender. What he does with it is an entirely different question.

This looks like a special incoming class, as long as a goalie or two comes through.

A lot of questions, but potentially exciting times answering them. I'm looking forward to seeing how things shake out.

Nice piece on Chiasson. Yet another skating-improvement success story for Mike Boyle as well as a guy whose skills developed year by year.
Gotta question some of the chronology on language since he attended The Northwood School before going to Des Moines.

Right. He learned English at Northwood. From what he told me a couple years ago, he spoke it pretty fluently after just one school year.

1. BU always has a great recruiting class (so what does that tell you...)
2. What do you think the high ceiling is? Better than last year's team? If so, I'd disagree with that.
3. So as long as Parker recruits well, he won't be going anywhere? If that's the case, he'll be coaching till he dies because BU will always get talent. Results cannot be looked at as an entirely separate debate. Recruiting and on-ice results are clearly related. Ron Zook was known as a great recruiter at Illinois...oops.

Very interesting...

I know alleged college bound players are often drafted, but in the first round???

It looks like season ticket prices may have dropped a bit. With my YA discount, it's $340 including QF's, which is definitely more than I paid last year. Also, the young alumni discount now extends to anyone who has graduated within the past TEN years. And that's a $100 discount, so not insignificant. Certainly seems like there's a push to get more people in the seats, which is nice to see.

I'm told that the nice folks at the BU ticket office have even extended that well beyond 10 years in some cases to convince someone to make a renewal. That's nice of them.

Has the season ticket price announcement come with a list of home games?
