It's La Russo i believe, as in Rudy La Russo who i bet BU Oldtimer knows:eek:

Rudy attended (graduated?) Dartmouth. When I first started to follow the Celtics, he was one of Johnny Most's primary villains. JM referred to him as Roughhouse Rudy.

BU faithful - what's the impression you have of Courtnall?

I think he is one of the underrated guys on the team in regard to his improvement from last year to this year. He was in and out of the lineup last year but he has been a solid fourth line guy all year for this team. He is an enforcer for sure and has offensive skills as well. I wish I was there when he sent the ND guy through the glass in Chicago. He isn't a great offensive guy at this point in his career but I think he has the potential to move up the lineup throughout his career and maybe even grab a C or A in two years as a senior. There was one point in the Beanpot game against BC that he kept the puck in the zone for close to a minute by himself and really grabbed some momentum for a while there. I think he is a big physical guy the team needs out there on the ice after Gryba left. I know they play different positions but you still need that physical guy out on the ice especially aginst the more physical teams in the league like MC and NU.

Seems to be improving every week. Good checking line player, learning to use his size to his advantage rather than aimlessly throwing it around and ending up in the box all the time. Offensive skill is lacking, but on the fourth line, that's not really what you're looking for out of him. He also seems to be getting better at cycling down low and working against the boards in the offensive zone. With some shooting and finishing around the net skill, he could develop into a fairly solid contributor. But Parker can't coach or develop players, so all of this is untrue and moot.

while we're at it with Courtnall, who i think has found his niche and place in the scheme of the game, how about the rest of the 4th line? Rosen, Santana/Gilroy. thoughts?

I think mpereira is thinking of Geoff Courtnall.

haha he has talent on the offensive side of the ice. Has he reached his potential there yet? Not even close but I think he has the skillset to score 5-10 goals a year the next couple years if he improves on some things. He has missed two or three pretty open nets this year that I can remember. not going to be breaking any scoring records but could be a legitimate threat on the third line maybe the second line in two years if he really improves. Never gonna be a first line guy though

He has three points in about 50 career games...come on. If he reaches 10 goals as a junior or senior, I'd be pretty surprised.

He's very raw offensively. He seems to have good sense, but his finishing ability is subpar right now, and I don't think I've ever seen him take a slapshot.

Yeah true. He doesn't seem to shoot much at all. His only goal was kinda lucky this year too so ill go back and change that 5-10 to 3-5 by his senior year. To answer an earlier post though Rosen has been a fantastic surprise I think at center. I know I didn't expect him to make the transition so easily from defenseman to center but I think he has been a pleasant surprise and probably is the most likely to score out of the fourth line. Not saying much considering Santana and KGilroy aren't exactly scoring machines either. They hustle and play hard but have trouble finding the back of the net for sure especially Santana. Gilroy had a big goal in the Northeastern game last year on the last weekend of the season but I don't think he has scored since.

I have to agree, I've really been impressed with Rosen's ability to jump into the center position. He's not gonna score much but he's a solid grind-it-out type guy and he works hard to get to the dirty areas (as evidenced by his goal this weekend). I did notice this weekend that Rosen sometimes jumped into his old defensive role if a d-man made a bad pinch and he looked incredibly comfortable doing so. Obviously this makes sense considering he had been a d-man prior to this year, but it was pretty cool to see him do it mid-shift.

I want four points this weekend. I asked for eight over the last two weeks, and got seven. Now I'd like four more.

I'd like to get a call from Halle berry inviting me to room service lunch at the Copley plaza today....

I'm not sure which has a better chance of happening :D

I wouldn't put it as that big of a long shot. Northeastern has their seed locked up already and have nothing to play for before the tourny. Are they going to come out and lay two eggs? No but BU needs these wins more so it wouldn't surprise me to see them to steal one at Matthews(or at least a tie) and then win on Senior night back at Agganis saturday. This is the same team that is 7-0-2 in their last 9 HE games including a win at UNH,a win and a tie at Maine(which seems impressive after what Maine did to MC this weekend up there.) I would say three points is more of a reasonable expectation though.

While this is true, BU is NU's biggest rival, no? They have plenty to play for IMO...

Yeah they seem to act that way. I was just saying no matter what they do they are the 6 seed and they aren't in the running for an at large berth so the outcomes are quite meaningless but I expect a couple of one goal games or ties.I just think the way BU is playing right now gives a solid chance to get 3 or 4 points from the weekend. It is unfortunate that they(the students) are on break this week though. There will be no one to throw chicken fingers at me this year though...kinda disappointing.
