Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

There's probably no more than 15-20 people in 118 who can be considered diehards.

There were 15 people in 118 last night?;)

the sign mentions someone not a player on BU, would get taken away by agganis security.

Also has words over two syllables, it would take them 5 minutes to blankly stare at it while trying to sound it out before they decided if it was appropriate or not.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Wow, two nights in a row that the student sections were empty.

Either way, good win for BU tonight. Played hard all game. Millan came up big when needed (I'm thinking of that doorstep play). BU really dominated the 1st, but got nothing out of it due to some great goaltending from Madore, who I hope got a star for the game. UVM had a stretch or two in the second two frames, but good job on the Terriers to really control the play. And, home ice once again. That makes it every year that BU has had the QF matchup at Agganis.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Contrary to what everyone, including myself and the Agganis jumbotron, thought, BU did not clinch home ice tonight. I explain why at the bottom of my updated recap on the blog.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Well, Maine did their part. So, we need a point next weekend to clinch home ice? Hopefully that can be achieved.

BU clinches home ice with any of the following:
-At least 1 point against NU
-At least 2 points by Merrimack against PC
-At least 1 point by UMass against Maine

I'll take the first one, Maine seems to have gotten a goalie all of the sudden and I don't see MC going 0-1-1 against PC.

Are terrier fans still hoping to get UNH in the semis? Going to be some scoreboard watching next weekend.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

I expected that he would improve as the year went on, not regress. And yes, he falls down an awful lot. He had one play behind the net where he changed direction about 5 times. Looked fantastic. But it didn't result in a goal. Don't get me wrong, if I'm starting a team and picking from teh BU roster, he's my #1 pick. He's just had a pretty rough go of it lately. I pointed it out a couple weeks ago, and it hasn't gotten any better since then. Perhaps he's tired, on part due to the WJC's.

I'd take at least five Terriers before #3. Someone needs to light a fire under his ***.

Forget criticizing Parker......... It doesn’t matter who the coach is…hell, I could’ve been behind the bench.....in the midst of a Charlie Sheen like coke binge

you say this like there is a difference

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Assuming that BU and Northeastern stay where they are in the standings, they could potentially play each other 5 times over the next two weeks and at a minimum, 4. Northeastern could put a BC-type smackdown on BU.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Home ice or not, whoever BU plays in the first round will have more and louder fans in the building than BU will.

Kudos to BU on a strong weekend. Showed a lot of hustle this weekend and worked hard to get some points.

That said, getting a bit ahead of yourself here aren't you? A.) You assume BU gets through the QF's, NU is playing well right now, definitely not a team that's going to be a cake walk. And B.) you assume UNH is also going to get through the QF's. That's a big assumption.

Then what the he'll are we supposed to talk about?? Things in the past that are fact?!? Like you're an idiot?!? We can talk about anything we want, and id it doesn't come to fruition, so what?!?

....hey, who would we rather have in the first round?!? Sioux or Ylae?!? I want Ylae because I can drive that!! Wooo! Can't wait!

Go away. Go get laid. Too much time for you on here :D

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

Nice solid performance last night.

- A couple huge stops by Millan tearly on o keep the team in it
- Clendening with a beautiful pass to Chiasson for the breakaway. Clendening now has 23 points, same as Coyle. Nice to see him get into a groove.
- On replay, Connolly really picked the corner on his shot. Live, it looked like he had most of the net to shoot at. But madore actually got back over to cover the middle of the net.
- Gill had a very strong weekend as well. i think he looks better than he did early on this season when he was getting all those points.

Oh that's rich.

Anyways, good luck to BU from here on out, I hope they make the tourney and represent the league well. I also hope the turdnugget mookie's car breaks down and he misses it all.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

I thought Wade Megan had a very strong game last night. There's a guy, if he decides to crank it up a notch or two, could help get BU to the Garden. Great hustle to keep the cycle going on BU's first goal.

I agree with Defkit on Gill's play. It also helps that he's paying on the first line. I'd like to see him work on his skating this summer. He could be a good one in this league by his Junior year. (15-20 type guy.)

I still don't think this team is NCAA ready. But here's hoping we get a strong effort to finish the year.

BU Hockey: Spoiler?

Re: Boston University 2010-11 Part III - Is That So Much To Ask?

sadly, the hu loss is keeping bu out of the tournament right now. they are t15 with dc and umo, but lose the dc comparison due to CoP. if bu had beaten hu on that 2nd monday that would be enough to flip that and have bu in.

if bu does what they need to and beat nu this weekend, that will pretty much prevent nu from getting to TUC status. beating nu won't help either with the CoP - they had a lot of easy AHA games lined up this year. they tied to rpi (:() and beat hu twice (:(:()

dc (along with ylae and union) is on bye this week. only help from ecac first round is if toothpaste somehow beats rpi (down to #13 now).

mc's cinderella weekend has for the moment removed them from a #1 seed - so our shot at bridgeport with Ylae is not looking as open as before.

cc visits bucky for two this weekend... GO BUCKY!

outside of winning enough games to get the autobid already, looking at the comparisons it appears difficult to catch and pass umd or uhn (both t11) with at large bids.

--as we've thought all along, the margin of error is very small.

Pwr ties are broken by rpi which we have the advantage in if the tournament started today and favorites won autobids were in.
