Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

your argument with the BC fans over your record. we keep this thread to arguing with them about relevant things like Parker's latest trip to the dugout, whether Gerbe slashed anyone/dove lately, and the occasional confused Northeastern fan.

I'm sorry, I thought I was arguing with BU fans about our record. My humble apologies.

Bump. Also, DiPietro just got one-punched by Brent Johnson.

While on the topic of BU alums, don't know if anyone caught the SportsCenter top 10 yesterday, but #5 play of the day was this. Yes, AHL hockey was on SportsCenter.

Nothing like seeing a former Cap that I never liked when he was on the team one punch a former Terrier while playing on a team I loathe!

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

insult to injury for DiPietro. Takes the loss, having an awful season, and got one punched in a goalie fight. rough

For him, being healthy enough to play makes it a great season compared to the last few...

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

I can't see him getting another start unless Millan gets fatigued or completely falls apart. Parker showed he's willing to stick with Millan even after a bad game when he started him against ND one day after the Brown loss. Obviously that worked out well. I don't think it's any sort of statement against Rollheiser so much as it's the fact that Millan is playing like one of the best goalies in the country right now. Every game from here on is too important to mess with that.

As for next season... I honestly have no idea. Parker said Millan was the No. 1 goalie even before this season started, so I'd find it hard to believe he won't enter next season as the No. 1 again. If that's the case, I wouldn't at all be surprised if Rollheiser takes a serious look at his options. I haven't heard anything about him doing that, though, so that's pure speculation on my part.

Well just to look at another option with the way Milan is playing what happens if he signs after the year is over and leaves early

I'm speculating here, but is this really a likely scenario? I can't think of too many goalies who've jumped early, Thiessen is the only one that comes to mind, and while Millan certainly has played very well lately, his stats have been a bit skewed for various reasons, so they're not exactly jump off the page kind of numbers. He's with BU West, right?

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

yes he is with BU West and it is also hard to say how likely it is that they will want to sign him but from a development prospective an arguement could be made that he would be better served getting back to a regular hockey season schedule with more games played he has proved himself pretty well at this level

In Hockey East... Jimmy Howard, Maine ('05); Jon Quick, UMass ('06); Corey Schneider, BC ('07) and Ben Bishop, Maine ('08), to name a few others. ;)

if colo wants to sign him, he should go. situations now are different, but always take the money. sean fields should have made like the wind after his junior season.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

Stopped in looking to see any commentary on last night...everybody must have been out partying after the game.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

Good little positive streak going into the Beanpot and the stretch run. Tough test on Monday. The key will be how we play after Monday, regardless of the outcome.

Good to see Trivino and Clendening starting to contribute more offensively. If this team is going to make any noice, they are two of the players that we need in order to have a balanced attack.

While at the game last night, I was watching the MC at NU score on my phone. The Huskies had a 2-0 lead at one point and Merrimack broke the tie with less than half a minute to go in OT. Too bad NU couldn't get it done. (A sidenote: 108 minutes in combined penalties and Gryba wasn't playing for either team!)

Looking at the league standings -- where the Eagles have a comfortable 5 point lead -- it struck me is that the sole difference to this point is simply BC sweeping BU. That 3-0 record counts, of course, and counts big. I was just surprised to see that BC and BU have rung up virtually identical records against the rest of HE, with BU actually having a one point edge. It certainly doesn't feel that way.

PS Yup: go Minutemen -- and go Wildcats, too.

i agree, despite reading each of the tales of woe from Terrier fans about their team ...........but ya can't subtract games to fit the arguement so the standings are what they are and UNH has two losses this far into the season again
