Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

I have no problem with her wanting to drive more visitors to her blog and not having her property hosted at a different site. I saw the picture on facebook and haven't check her blog yet today, and I wasn't going to link to facebook from here for those who don't have it. I'm at work now and the filter blogs image sites (but not uscho, score;) ) so I couldn't delete the image from the host yet so I just deleted the post.
That's cool. But I'm going to guess you would have done the right thing whether you were called criminal or whether you were simply asked politely.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

Just to be clear, I posed the Gilroy/Lawrence thing as a question, not an opinion. I don't see the team enough in person to be able to have an educated opinion on something like that. I rely on the posters here who are at the games regularly.

And while we are on the topic - and it being just about Thanksgiving - my thanks to all of you who provide so much info and analysis to people like me who can't be at the games too often. Luckily for me, Sat. night at MSG will be an exception.

KG was able to play on the top 2 lines a couple games already from the start of the season and didn't get the job done. too many times it was too late with the trigger or not able to get enough on the shot or just kept missing.

i wasn't at the HU game, but watched via the web. he was getting into the offensive zone and working to get some chances, yes. but still hard lucked right now.

hopefully the goals will come and continue to come... but until they do...

????????

Seconded. Now that I'm not in a position to get to the games (though All-Access does help!), it is nice to get thoughts from the group.

SRS - enjoy the game. I have fond memories of the game two years ago (unfortunately one of just a few highlights that season), my first trip to MSG.

Please delete this immediately from Image Shack. You can easily link to the photo on my website - there is no reason to steal it, place it elsewhere and then post it here.
you must hate the printscreen (PrtSc) button on keyboards :p

Fight I mentioned yesterday...

More on topic, I really hope the team can use the Harvard game to get a jump on the MSG game and the rest of the season. It was nice to see that they didn't fold when they were tied or behind, but kept pressuring. That mentality was something that really carried the team last year, but seems to have been lacking so far this year.

btw, it was my first time at Bright - I must say, I like the venue. One of the better bleacher sheets i've been to. And I like that there's only a single Zamboni - not sure if that's by choice (as it's pretty cramped), but it's got an old school vibe?

I have all sorts of BU hockey writing updates for everyone:

--The original plan was to allow FREE SHIPPING on orders from www.buhockeybook.com for the first 35 days of the regular season. However, we decided to extend the offer for holiday shopping, and now the free shipping offer within the US still applies through December 18. See www.buhockeybook.com for ordering.

--For those holiday shoppers who would like their gifts to be inscribed and signed with the personal message of your choice, you can order online and include those requests under "special instructions to seller" when ordering.

--I have a new and very long piece now up on goterriers.com entitled "A Game for the Pages: The Making of Burn The Boats." Here is a link:
http://www.goterriers.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/112509aab.html

The story clears up various misconceptions people had about how and when the book was written, and it includes various personal anecdotes about the whole writing process.

--Another story will be on goterriers.com--most likely today at some point--featuring all of the current Terriers who grew up within striking distance of Madison Square Garden. There is a great story within it about Joe Pereira's first collegiate goal in the last RHH game as well as additional material based on interviews with Kevin Shattenkirk, Luke Popko, and Queens native Sean Escobedo.

--I will be covering Red Hot Hockey this year and appearing at the pre-game Pep Rally at Madison Square Garden from 6-8 p.m. Burn The Boats will be available for purchase at the pep rally and, I believe, concession stands at Madison Square Garden. I will have a table at the pep rally and will be signing books there.

--The next Agganis book signing will be at the BC-BU game on December 5. I will be signing from 6-7 p.m. as well as between periods.

--Another signing will be at the BU Bookstore, most likely early evening on December 15. More details to come.

In general, I'm trying to do all I can to give Terrier fans opportunities to buy books--signed or otherwise--as gifts for the upcoming holidays. This was inspired by many fans at Agganis requesting personalized inscriptions for various friends and relatives. So far, the most popular choice for an inscription is "Never leave a game early!"

Great place to watch hockey. I liked the fact that Harvard showed replays for all goals, not just by the home team. Concerned about Freshmen D. -3 and neither played the second half of the third period.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

I, on the other hand, now hate Bright with a passion because they had neither internet nor media food. I'm sure I would've liked seeing the replays of all the goals had I been able to see the jumbotron through the banners and lights hanging right in front of the press box.

Wah! No media food!!

GEBF= Dan shank shaughnessy ?!?!?!?

;). :p

I posted the lines for tonights game on the game thread. COmpliments of Rogie, who is of course en route to the game.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

That was an incredible hockey game. BU came out really badly, but after the first ten minutes really turned it around. If Cornell's goalie wasn't as good as he was, they could/should have won.

But honestly, a really fun, fantastic hockey game to witness.
