Minor correction for our friends at the Fan Blog- it's an adductor injury, not an abductor injury. Adductor muscles are in the hip, the abductor muscle is in the foot. (in my best Holiday Inn imitation) I'm not a doctor, but I did Wikipedia it. :p

P.S. Thanks for linking to so much of our stuff.

You're welcome and thanks for the heads-up on the typo. But the abductor is nowhere near the foot, unless one has reason to kick oneself in the *****. ;) http://www.changingshape.com/exercise/musclecharts/

Well, then I'm talking about whatever the hell this is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abductor_hallucis_muscle

This is why I won't be applying to the School of Medicine.

Actually, neither of you are completely correct. Muscles are abductors or adductors depending on what they do. A muscle abducts if it moves the body part away from the center of your body and adducts if it brings it back to the center. So there are abductors and adductors in the hip, the foot, etc. So your example, the hallucis muscle, moves the toe away from the center of the foot.

That should been Dan Bertram. All those B's get confusing. ;)
Funny you should mention Dan, just came across this:
Update on Blackhawks' Prospect Dan Bertram. In the pre-season Dan Bertram, selected in the second round, 54th overall in the 2005 entry draft by the Chicago Blackhawks suffered an injury in a game against the Peoria Rivermen.

At the start of the season he was assigned to the ECHL Toledo Walleyes, the Blackhawks' and IceHogs AA affiliate. Fans soon noticed that he was missing from the Walleye's roster. The AHL transactions had listed him as being added back onto the IceHogs roster on October 12th. According to the IceHogs Director of Communications, Chris Etheridge, "Dan Bertram is pursuing other activities outside of hockey. He is no longer on any team's roster".

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

So if an alien brings you home, does that mean you have been adducted?

Gilroy's been all over the ice in the 1st period against the Oilers tonight...Primary assist on the first goal scored by Chris Higgins :-)

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

I don't care if we just lost, we're not a page 2 uscho fanbase.

1-3 in hockey east now... time to worry?

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

General impressions re: what happened?

Only could check up on hockeyeast scoreboard periodically.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

on the radio, it sounded as though the boys gave a good effort. outshot the huskies 40-21. but can't score.

seen a lot of that so far... shots, but into the middle of the net. not the skill level that we had last year. little slow on the shot.

whacha gonna do?!?

there were lots and lots of really bad, low quality shots. they did hustle quite a bit tonight and were for most of the game the superior team on the ice. the powerplay and offense in general was lacking quite a bit without warso in addition to bonino not to mention megan.

what concerns me the most, has anyone seen corey trivino do anything of significance at all this season? he looks like a ghost out there.

Hey defkit, while I have you...

Last year you had a great post regarding the first four games. (You know, win all four and "look out!") Any thoughts on this year?

UMass
Notre Dame
Michigan
Lowell
Lowell
NU

I gotta admit. I'd be happy with 3-3. I think this team is going to experience a bit of a National Championship Hang-over. I'm predicting 3-2-1.

BU Hockey: Set the Bar Low and It's Easier to Jump Over It

Who saw 2-4? I think I said a CCHA split, a split with Lowell and a win at NU, with the UMass game being the wildcard. SO the first two pieces came true, but the last bit did not.

Oh, and if you had told me both Bonino and Warsofsky would miss games, I probably would have said 2-4 :D
