Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Nice to see this thread at the top again! My wish came true....thanks Grant and Joe....and best of luck this weekend.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

BC looks pretty certain to snag the 6 spot barring a meltdown in Maine this weekend.

Don't understimate that team. It wouldn't take a BC meltdown to come home with just 2 points. Or less.

Now the key for us is hoping UNH doesn't finish 3rd. :o

Guess you're just going to have to cheer for the Terriers this weekend then:D

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

2 points would still leave BC looking good for a playoff spot.

True indeed. They are a very hard working team, and Brittany Ott is a top notch netminder.

Yeah, as if a card carrying Eagle could actually "cheer" for their arch-rival.

I can hear it now. Grant: "Go Be....Go Be.....Go Beeee.....oh, just go other team on Comm Ave."

I do agree about Ott. She's outstanding.

Eagles! Big win for BC and nice to see three different ladies get on the scoresheet.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

The two points for the Eagles pretty much secures a playoff spot. Now the Eagles should really focus on several things throughout the remainder of the season to position themselves better for the HE tournament; things like improving their power play, improving their power play kill and avoiding BU's knee seeking missile. I think we saw enough of that this past Tuesday.

Modest though it may be, it's a winning streak! and 2-0-1 in the last 3. Baby steps. Let's hope we see a good showing against UNH win or lose and be ready for some playoff hockey.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Just one week left in the regular season and given a miracle; BC will play in the HE tournament as the 6th seed. The field is wide open as to whom they will play, but here is the interesting thing; BC has beaten (it's taken a shootout in some instances) every team ahead of them except for UNH. Of course BC plays UNH twice this upcoming weekend, so who knows what will happen. With that said, this scenario plays out just as many of us have been describing all year - young team, lost many seniors last year, two stars in the olympics and the team will need time to jell. Although inconsistent most of the year, now would be a great time to pull it together. Taking care of business at Maine this weekend has made the next few weeks interesting for BC fans. Go Eagles.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

OK ladies, do whatever it takes to make UNH finish 2nd, 4th or 5th... but not 1st or 3rd pleeeease and thank you. :) :)

Just a few days away from seeing if BC has found a new level this year as they prepare for UNH. Reasonable effort versus BU in getting a tie and two solid wins over the weekend versus Maine. BC usually has trouble on Maine's home ice, so although Maine is not highly rated, the wins are still admirable. UNH will be a much tougher test and seems to be a tough matchup personnel and style wise for BC. Solid performances in each game by BC could lead to further optimism in the HE tournament. Go Eagles!

As much as it pains me as a BU fan, I'll be rooting for BC this weekend. GL Eagles! (not too much luck though :p )

So what is with the late game on Sunday?

It's so I can do a counter installation in a dentist's office on Sunday and not have to worry about missing the game. :D

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Freak, the men's game vs. Northeastern was picked for the ESPNU 3 PM game, so they'd have had to play the women's game at 11 AM if they were going to play before the men.

On Saturday there's a bouncyball game.
