Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

I have seen her play plenty, and you are not even remotely close in your evaluation of her talent.... she'll be another freshman with a lot to learn.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

...she should have been on u18 both years im not sure what usa hockey was doing when they cut her both times
I'm sure she is quite talented(she wouldn't be headed to BC is she wasn't), and there is no doubt that a number of very talented players did not make a cut for the U18s, but I think not making it twice should tell you something.

I agree, let's let her play tell the story once the season starts. This poster singling out this player throughout their short time on this message board implies that this is someone close to the player. They are either a devout fan or someone trying to set her up for a fall by stating her superiority of all defensemen in the college ranks before she has even played one game.

i personally dont know ms burns so for you to say that it is incorrect..i am from minnesota and saw her play many many many times over the last 3 years..did you guys happen to catch the national championship game this past year? she had a goal (gwg) and 3 assists..shut coyne down the entire game and was one of the best players on the ice next to kessel

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

This is ridiculous. Unless you have watched every women's player in college hockey, I suggest you stop with the hyperbole. I'm sure Dru is quite good, but let's calm down a little bit, eh?

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Besides, everyone knows that Jackie Thode is the most dominant force in college hockey.

I am sure that Dru is a fantastic player, however she is a very different player than say Blake Bolden. Dru is much more defensive minded, Blake is a great defensive player with more of an offensive mind. I really don't think you can say that Dru is the best player on the ice. You will see this upcoming season that there are very many great players along with Dru but none of them have the same fantastic qualities. They are all good for different reasons.

Actual new info posted on BCEagles.com under "Quick Facts"

7 newcomers. Bolden, Brown, Burns, Boyles, Motherwell, Walsh, Hart, so any hopes of an extra player or two are gone. 7 to replace nine losses (7 seniors, Stack, and Schaus).

Tracy Johnson is the captain as expected. Katelyn Kurth is the alternate.

Heard today that BC will have another goalie arriving on campus in the fall of 2010.

Doing a bit of advanced investigation in preparation of the season opener and am I to understand that neither the Friday nor Saturday game versus Clarkson will be streamed via the internet. The B2 network does not list the game and not sure if their schedule will be updated this week. Anyone have any further insight?

I think the Clarkson student TV streams the games

Probably not top quality, but should at least fulfill a hockey fix;)

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

thanks GotIce, good find. for others, here is some info from the clarkson web-site.

Fans of Clarkson University Hockey will be able to follow both Golden Knights Men’s and Women’s teams over the internet through various multi-media options.

Video Streaming of Clarkson Men's and Women's home games with a video feed by the University's student-TV station, WCKN-TV, combined with audio from WQTK 92.7 FM will be available on the web.

just be prepared to be offended by the announcers (if they return from last season). Otherwise the qaulity is good and the camera angles are what you would expect.
