Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Allie does hav the skill I jus don't think the size and strength as some of those other older girls we are glad to have her wit us thou!

Now that the team is set no shaus no stack let's break the roster down
defense - who will b the number one go to person? D pairs? Maybe rolling 4 or 5?
Offense - who will be the top line? Goal scorers? Play makers? Roll 3 limes?
Goalies - boyles or Kingston

I would think Thunstrom is going to have a great year. Thunstrom and Restuccia on the top line and BC will be solid on the blue line.

Defense - Johnson is the captain and leader, I'm thinking they'll pair her with Bolden. Kurth (best pure D on the team IMO) with Burns. Regan was very solid last year and I think they pair her with Brown. Not too worried about this unit though, Kurth and Bolden both have star potential.

Offense -
Thunstrom - Restuccia - Motherwell
Welch - Green - Szlosek
Webster - Shea - Walsh

Goaltending - I think Kingston and Boyles alternate games until one proves clearly superior (if that happens).

I think Kurth and Burns will be D pair #1..Burns is a very very very very good player..dont underestimate her abilities..she very may move into the #1 d spot on the team then i go wit Bolden Johnson. Regan and Brown will not b as strong but will still see the ice

Those lines look perfect i dont see it any other way

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Not hard to take guesses when there are so few forwards. I think Green is poised for a breakout year. I also see Shea contributing some goals. Thunstrom, Restuccia, and Motherwell seems like the perfect combination of speed, awesomeness, and power.

Re: Boston College Womens Hockey 10 Thunstromian Dominance

Hockey East Official Site has a BC schedule up that differs from the USCHO schedule in that a number of game times are different and the date of the Yale game is different.

Be nice if they'd update the roster and schedule...

Have you watched a lot of college hockey? There are a lot of top D already in the college system. I am sure that Ms Burns is a fine player, but to say that she is the best hands down is a big stretch. Let her actions speak for themselves on the ice. We will know soon enough, less than a month to go:D

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Add Laura Hart, transfer from Clarkson, to the roster. She is a forward.

Hockey4life43, I fear that by making this statement you've created feedback that may make this defensive player feel as if the BC fans will put pressure on her to be a superstar. I'm sure she's a great player, but making this statement is crazy. It could very well be that she is a top defensive player, however the feedback you get with a statement like that while not meant to be negative can't possibly make the girl feel overwhelmingly happy.

1. i doubt burns even reads this thread 2. i am very confident in my statement...she should have been on u18 both years im not sure what usa hockey was doing when they cut her both times but she is the smartest defensemen ive seen in some time now and she has very good hands i believe she is better than kurth and bolden...u guys will all understand soon

It's going to take a little more time and evidence for me to buy the "maybe even in college hockey this year" component of your original thought.

There's a lot of formidable competition for that title.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

have any of you even see her play?
Not me, but I've seen many other very talented D currently playing in the WCHA...plus several in HE and the ECAC. Like I said...there's quite a few that would certainly merit consideration, if "the best" could even be determined. I'm glad some fortunate fans will get the chance to judge for themselves.

I'm not supposed to assume she may be the best in college hockey am I?
