Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Am really glad no one was hurt in this mess. Kids do stupid chit, just be glad when its over and no one causes bodily harm to themselves or others. So, what do we learn from this? A few suggestions:

1) Trollies have the right of way....always
2) Best to pick ur designated driver who is smarter than the bottle from which you are drinking
3) Stop, look left and turn right works most of the time. Stop, look right and turn left is not good
4) Objects in your left window are closer than they appear
5) It is not always good to egg on the driver (the sober one hopefully) to do something really dumb
6) Milner may be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound but he is not able to stop locomotives with his bare hands nor run faster than a speeding bullet (apparently)
7) According to reliable, local sources, PEaves was actually driving the trolley, not the automobile as was originally feared, and yes, it was in reverse as eyewitnesses claim.
8) Had a useful course, such as physics, been taught at BC, the driver would know instantly that the trolley has much more mass than Daddy's SUV...end of story.

or you can just look in the police report, creepers

While awaiting the arrival of the Crime Scene Unit, I was flagged down by a male party, later identified as a Mr. Frank Golden III. Mr. Golden was inquiring as to the condition of a female party, later identified as a Ms. Reilly Corbett

btw. he got his girlfriend busted

Having not heard of Ms. Corbett prior to talking to Mr. Golden, I asked Mr. Golden if there was any way to contact Ms. Corbett. Mr. Golden then dialed Ms. Corbett's cell phone. At that time, one of the cell phones that had previously been handed to me hy Officer Roberto, began to ring

Ouch. Can't outrun a cellphone....

during i think the caps game last night there was a beer ad where a dude walked into his buds apartment and started talking about meeting a cougar the night before... he started to dial the number while the bud began saying his family was visiting. then a cell phone on the table rang while the visitor guy was waiting for the cougar to pick up.  apartment dude yelled, "mom, your cell phone!"

kinda funny.:p

Yeah no kidding. What is the world coming up to when the collar ups have to resort to drinking such pedestrian swill.

Natty Ice. LOL. Good to know they are still drinking the same garbage I did when I was at BC.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

And more Kreider - he's been named to Team USA for the Worlds!!

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Ya know, I didn't read a single thing about how BCs time on the ice at Fenway may or may not have (had) an effect on the Frozen Four, until they mentioned it in the article, and even then, not much of a comparison/projection. Nick, you know everyone, did you hear anything?

I'd have to think it impacted their game plan, since they'd skated in a similar situation before. Then again, it wasn't snowing in Ford Field, so the situation was slightly different. In addition Wisconsin had also played an outdoor game this year.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

I'm sad, someone told me to go away.

It was actually an honest question: Did anyone see any articles regarding the nontraditional ice at the Frozen Four and BCs experience in Fenway?

Edit: Candy, didn't see your post! Thanks for the reminder: who else from the FF had other outdoor games this year?

I don't think it was a difference maker in any of those three close games;)

There had to have been an article or articles on the topic. I know it was discussed by BC fans leading up to it.

The snow falling had more impact on that Fenway game than the temporary ice did. I dont remember, though, seeing the pipes inside the ice at Fenway like I did in Detroit, so maybe the ice was different somehow?

Wisconsin had an outdoor game this year, too.

didnt see it in the print media but on a few TV interviews York and some of the players that were interviewed said that for sure the Fenway game helped them for the FF venue...............

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Is anyone else worried that Kreider might put together a highly impressive run at Worlds to the point where the Rangers offer him the rookie max to sign this summer? Or is Worlds so low-profile this year that it's not something to be overly concerned about?

Either way, congrats to Kreider on making the team. It says a lot about this guy's talent that he was the only current NCAA player selected.

What a 6 months for Kreider if the US gets a medal in this tournament. He's already won World Jr. gold, the Beanpot, the Hockey East championship, and the NCAA title this calendar year.

i hope that doesn't happen obviously.........it would put a bigger damper on the off season than the Trolley vs Jersey SUV event...........as brilliant as he was at times he just isn't ready, IMO. physically, he needs more bulk, and he needs to hone his skills. next year at this time, we will be saying goodbye to him though
