Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Could someone who went to the rally provide a summary?

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

yup, my bad, I still think he needs to stay and give us close to 20. Was it with Jimmy that Jerry said he thought should have stayed another year? If so, what does that say about Kevin? who is behind what his brother was at the same stage.............

I feel that Gaudreau, Hayes, Mullane & Straight all have the potential to increase their goal scoring by 5-10 next year. Arnold, Whitney and Linell I could see increasing their scoring by maybe 3-5 over this past year. Throw in Freshmen Vatrano and Richardson at 5-10 goals each and you're getting pretty close to replacing the goal production from this years' losses (i.e. Kreider, Carey and Almeida).

How does Gaudreau stack up among favorites for the 2013 Hobey?

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Was torn on Most Improved, with MacLeod certainly in contention.

Would also not be surprised to see Arnold get an "A" instead of someone like Alber.

Alber deserves consideration for most improved i think

Looked like a great parade / celebration and cool to have some of the alumni players there as well.

For a fun dig though, its great that the Newton mayor was there but Menino wasn't? (At least the USCHO article didn't mention him)! The Newton thing somehow never gets old! :D

Also saw that Tommy Cross signed with the Bruins... since I have not followed that end of it, was he a free agent? Or was he a Bruins pick all along? Does he have any chance of playing for them this year? (I'm guessing not but.... ???)

He was drafted by the Bruins.

I would pay for them to have Menino at one of these things...

I believe he was assigned to Providence (at least that's what was reported on the radio)...

he can't play for the big club - he signed too late. Not that they would put him there. Even Krug signed too late to play with the big club in the playoffs. Heck, even Turco did I think.

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Cross can play in the playoffs (not that I expect him to) because he was drafted by the Bruins. Same as Kreider being able to play for the Rangers. Krug can't play because he wasn't a Bruins pick.

FL's right, it's out there that Kreider could be on their playoff roster and Boyle was interviewed somewhere, posted on EA i think, and said Kreider would be welcomed or words to that effect

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Gaudreau rightfully named National ROTY by USCHO.

I stand corrected.
