Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Pedal to the metal time !

No let up and attack ! attack ! attack !

The D hopefully and team defense smother the Bulldogs

Demko should be solid tonight

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

A little longer intermissions, stop to clean the ice, tv timeouts. Game didn't go to OT. Fine for yesterday but will have to see how the players feel today. Game started at 9:10 i think, so same thing tonight. With UMD playing into double OT, not sure there is an advantage either way. Plenty of time for pregame naps today.

York should be able to get a sense of if he has to work the 4th line in/when to do it as the game goes on.

Oh and they played a very disciplined, smart game. Obviously doesn't hurt when you don't have HE refs.. shocker. I believe only 2 penalties and one was too many men. So not having to tax penalty killers was also a huge plus.

That was a nice effort. Gotta bring it as hard or more tonight... Duluth is very good.
Tuch playing along side Fitz and White payed dividends. Nice line.
No 4th line last night. That's a little concerning. Brown and Calnan alternated time with Cango/Wood. Zeke got a few shifts with same. Dudek never saw the ice.

Dudek most certainly played. At least on the Penalty kill unit.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

York juggled lines for this (playoff) game? You can do that? ;)
BC has a good 4th line... high energy.
Throughout the playoffs, a couple of lines have seen LOTS of ice time. Third line not as much. 4th line, a few shifts.
Was very noticeable against VT and NU... one line seems to be on the ice every other shift.
Haven't seen the Eagles play a great third period in a while. Looked to me last night like they were hanging on for dear life in the third.
Hope it doesn't bite them in the arse. Duluth barely slowed down through 4 periods last night.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Harvard had some chances but i really didn't think they were all that threatening. BC did have some great chances to really extend lead and put game away, just couldn't convert. Hit a post, odd man rushes, in all alone...

Melrose essentially called the result in BC's favor during the 2nd period. One could almost hear the groans from the ESPN production truck.

Melrose also said BC drafted well

And that the players were earning their pay checks, although that might have been during the earlier game. Buccigross corrected him with "scholarships".

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

interesting to see york juggle the top line for the tourney, certainly against what we have seen the last decade plus. tuch could've had a couple of more as well, as i said last week frustrating because everyone know last night type performance is always lurking.

mccoshen had a very nice bounceback.

9 start sucks and is dumb, will be interesting to see how the crowd is

that was ridiculous, Harvard is not chopped liver and within a couple minutes BOOM! 3-1, you just knew it was going to happen

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

At least tv viewers got bucci. In cincy, they have something called allen bestwick announcing the games.

I thought Colby Cohen was pretty good , just needs a deeper voice:eek: I got to watch the game from 35,000 ft up. Thank you jetBlue with free wifi to boot on that particular plane............i digress

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Thought Miles Wood was a beast last night. He has reigned in the knucklehead stuff and was absolutely flying. Harvard had no answer for his (and Tuch's) combination of size and speed.

Yeah...that was funny. Buccigross, who just has no feel for the game, said "One goal can get Harvard right back in this!!!!!!!" And then Melrose says, "I don't see any way that BC loses this game." Complete deflation....but he was right. One could sense that Harvard was really never a threat in this game.

Yeah, but did honestly think they were going to come back? It was kind of like BU against Lowell...they had "chances" but not very good ones and nothing that would make you think they could turn the game around.

Looked like an NHLer last night, he will probably move on.

Harvard and Northeastern should have stayed in Boston and played Monday at 4:30 since they brought a Beanpot Consolation Game intensity to their respective appearances yesterday.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Both White and Wood have speed to burn. Made D-men look like traffic cones a few times last night.
Tuch looked very good as well. He added physical play around the net to open up some room for his line mates. Has a nice wrist shot. Snaps it off his stick with a sneaky release and speed.
