Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Gibbons came close to getting the boot on that one.. ref discretion i guess.. but overall, well officiated gm.

FWIW, the second BC goal (Kreider).. spectacular. Enjoy him while you can. He doesn't just skate.. he flies on air :)

Kreider absolutely ripped that shot. Great goal. I thought it was good for Rawlings that he never saw that puck because it would have gone straight through him.

Chris Kreider is one of the more exciting players I have seen recently. That goal he had in the Beanpot Championship against BU was one of the best individual plays I have ever seen.

Eh I disagree. There wasn't much wrong with the 2nd part of his penalty. In fact, there was no signal at all that another 2:00 would be tacked on until the conclusion of a lengthy discussion between the refs.

Bottom line: BC needs to play smarter hockey and not give up so many odd man rushes. Special teams haven't been as good recently. Need to clean up some things.

Agree. NU did a great job of clogging passing lanes and creating turnovers, but we had our fair share of just handing them the puck on way too many occasions, then getting caught flat footed at the blue line. We were far better off dumping the puck and chasing than trying to skate through the mess NU had set up at the blue line.

Let's get two on Sunday.
Go Eagles!

Wow, the Hockey East standings tightened up fast. We really need a win today to keep pace with everybody else. Go Eagles!

incredibly tight and this is a HUGE game for BC today..........what looked like little easier stretch a couple of months ago has suddenly become a very difficult one with NU's emergence and The Mack's as well! i think overall BC has played well since the middle of the Fenway game IMO. Not that shots on goal is always the indicator of how a team is playing i do like seeing 35-45 shots a game that they are consistently putting up now.............

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Yeah I guess that works.

Despite little home ice advantage from the crowd -this team is very good at home.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Nobody in the country beats Boston College if they play like they did today. The problem for them is they don't always play as well as they did today. The offense gets all the ink, but their defense is very underrated.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

vs UMass in Feb or vs North Dakota in the frozen four???? hmmmm

no. the argument is either v.UMass in Feb or v.NU today. either of them were the most dominating/best performance since the Sioux frozen four game. :p

but that wasn't MY point...........mine was, and i repeat, it was the best performance for a BC team since that North Dakota game in 2008, not what performance THIS YEAR was the most dominant..........

but if he thought the umass game was the best, it would be since that game. regardless of whether or not it also happened this year.

ok, i get that, but if you watched that game vs UMass and this one today, there is no comparison, IMO. they played a great 40 minutes vs UMass and a totally dominant 60 today but thanks for the explanation..........i enjoy reading your posts, btw
