Boston College Hockey, Part II

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

I see that your math skills are as good as your English skills. His save percentage is 37 points lower. Unless you're using some funky math 37 is not over 50. Also, 3.15 is not twice 1.80 for his GAA.

Ok, lets just say they both suck compared to last year. You can do the math yourself...

Out of the 3 catagories they keep on the Hockey East stats page, he was first in 2, third in the other. This year he is next to last, 3rd from last and 4th from last..

I loved Chris Collins as a BC player as well. thought he was their best player his senior year. zero to do with a know it all attitude. He went to Providence for Bruins way to heavy, bad attitude and ticked off a couple of their coaches. was shipped off to long Beach California, to lose weight and adjust his attitude. Is listed as 5'8" around 208, was as high as 225 if my memory serves me right. Could be off on that one. Is in europe I think now.

Now you use Gerbe as an example of what it takes to be a pro player

Up until his senior year, Collins was a bit of a disappointment. He had one incredible season though. The bottom line is he isn't as fast or as good as Gerbe. I never expected Collins' one great year to translate into a successful pro career.

Hopefully BC can get 3-4 points this weekend. Getting closer to 20-win season and move up in the polls.

Indeed.

0-3-1 in the last four against UML including a 3-1 loss last time out. Since then, these teams are going in different directions.

Do we see a Beanpot letdown?

It's more likely that we see what we saw last time: Lowell's strong, smart D are a good matchup against our speedy forwards. Thisll be a tough road game.

No doubt it will be tough. BC played a good game against them last time out, but had a couple goals waved off, hit a post after tying the game, the botched non-icing call at the end, playing without Cross...BC should be ready for this one.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Patrick Wey back tonight. That gives BC three right d and three left d. I assume Samuelsson and Shea stay together. Only question to me is who do you want the best dman on the team, Dumoulin, playing with? Sneep or Wey? I expect:

Samuelsson-Shea
Dumoulin-Sneep
Cross-Wey

Hope it's not too early to return. Hate to see him get injured again regarding broken bones. He's probably wearing a cast on that wrist.

I doubt he'd be playing if he was not fully healed. Like Bradford, he was fully healed, came back and broke the same arm in a different spot. Total freak accident.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

BC dmen +/-

Dumoulin +14
Samuelsson +5
Shea +4
Cross +3
Wey +3
Sneep +2
Alber +2
Lyles E

And when you throw in the eyeball test, no, Sneep is not this team's best dman. If he was, he would have been on the ice at the end of the BU game. He is, however, BC's best goal scoring dman.

Good post JD, often hard to tell who the best dman is based soley on stats. Watching the play is the only real way to gauge that. What a good dman does regularly will not show up in a box score or stats, but it is easy to see when you watch it though.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

What Yip has to do with it, you'd understand if you weren't so god**** dense. He wasn't exactly a worldbeater in college (I thought he was a hack myself) but he's proving to be quite the legit NHL player.

I take it that you missed his freshman year? he regressed after that.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Hey BC fans. Is there any word on Patrick Wey's status? Will he be back soon? Thanks.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

That's great news. That was a scary injury and he's lucky he didnt miss more time. Wey should really help this defense and keep pucks away from Muse.
