Wait what?? outside of 1 year? Which year ?

He's saying that outside of 2009, BC has been the only legit national title contender from the league in about a decade...UNH was pretty good in 2003 and Maine in 2002 so that is technically inside the last 10 yrs but those are on the back end. Hockey East used to be legit back in those days... boy was the league something else between 99-02..

Bring back Colin Hemingway and Niko Dimitrakos. And Robert "Can I Buy a Vowel" Ek. And, the Tony Voce/Preston Ryan rivalry was epic.

UNH had their best team, talent-wise, in 2001-2002. They were possibly the most talented team in the country, but in UNH-fashion, they gagged when it mattered most. The following year, they were very good, but not nearly as good as the year before. They managed to sneak into the final thanks to Ayers, but didn't have a shot against Minnesota. UNH has a few good players, but they aren't nearly as scary as they were in the early part of the decade I'm afraid.

It will be intresting to see how many students turn out...Last week there were 5 full sections of BC students, but with a lesser opponent and Valentine's Day etc. I expect maybe 4 sections tonight...maybe I will be pleasantly surprised again

BC just won the Beanpot and this thread is on the 2nd page?

I didn't watch the whole thing since I was in class. Too bad they couldn't win in the first 5:00..

How about those Crimson?

I can see late March already, UND v BC in the regional and BC wins 34-2 enroute to their 5th. Another season down the tubes I'm starting the UND offseason thread and waiting for the Twins to lose to NY first round of the playoffs, there goes another year of my life.:D

Can we stop with this? It goes down as a win in the PWR. Relax.

Where in God's name did this strange "5 minute" rule spring up? It was never that way.

Guilty. Though the new fiancée and future Mrs. TonyTheTiger20 wanted to watch the game on TV with me, which was nice. True love :D

I sold my ticket to the finals on my own, apparently she didn't know I did it.

Ho Hum. The program, the players, York are the best. Congrats. Its like why everyone roots for Tiger Woods, you want to feel part of the invincibility.

Not sure. Thought I had pointed that out earlier in this thread...

I'm apparently confused and am wrong in this case (again), so mea culpa. I don't go to 50 games a season anymore so I guess I am rusty on the rules.

Unfortunately the W wasn't enough to push BC to #1 in PWR.

It used to be that way but has changed, so mea culpa.

I don't recall it ever being like that in the Pot. I always remember it as W/L...no ties (unless in the consolation game)

The only way we pass Yale is 1) they lose at a minimum 2 TUC games, or 2) They lose to Colgate.

Regardless of what their RPI is.

Weird, right?

We can pass them if they start losing comparisons to other schools too. But their stupidly easy ECAC (that is why they call them the EZAC) schedule along with their soft OOC schedule pretty much has them locked in at the top.

Congrats on the Pot

As for the current conversation... BC would destroy Yale in the tournament, I wouldn't worry about it.

This senior class of BC has already accomplished more than any other with 2 NCAA's, 3 Beanpots, 2 HE Tournaments and it would be amazing if they keep adding on trophies to their accomplishments.

Where is Kenny? I know he's in all his glory tonight ;)

Can't wait to watch this on DVR and point out all the horrific defensive mistakes :p:D

But ya, obviously something needs to be said for finding various ways to win games. Whether it be fighting the officials last week or fighting themselves this week (and a great effort from NU)...

Even when BC has faltered late in games over the last couple years, this group has found ways to pull it out.
