Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

I'm most interested in the fact that it is reportedly for 2012. A kid like that you'd like to get on campus as soon as possible because you never know how long he'll last and BC had reportedly put the offer out for as early as 2011. I still have to wonder if he's going to change to 2011 or if he heads to Dubuque.

Normally, I would completely agree with you. I remember reading an interview where Coach York said he would rather have a kid come in younger, so he can develop the player his (York's) way, rather than the kid playing in the USHL, or somewhere else until he is 19 or 20. But Matheson is still 16 years old! He doesn't turn 17 for another month or two. I would rather him start playing at BC at 18 and a half years old, instead of 17 and a half.

Certainly some things for the coaches to go over, not a bad thing. With the loss, however, sets up an even bigger game with BU on Friday.
Defensive zone give-aways would be one. Team defense would be another. We handed the puck to Maine an awful lot for grade A chances. No doubt it will be fixed... happens every year.

Hope Patch is back soon. Key man on the blue line and his absence is felt.

Go Eagles!

^^when he returns (alber) we will finally have the whole team back. I know those games happen but last sunday sure put a damper on the good run we had even though the team is still not close to playing their best. just a bump in the road but now we really need to come out firing on friday at HAA........ should be interesting tonight at the Mack vs BU

Is Alber a great story or what? The kid is an integral part of this team; his absence is absolutely being felt.

Woo Hoo... Watching Buffalo v. Montreal on Versus. Gionta runs Miller and a fight starts. Gerbe winds on top of Gomez throwing punches. Go Eagles!!:D

Come on now, I wouldn't say Gionta ran Miller...

The Gerbe-Gomez stuff was pretty good though. After they got out of the box, Gerbe drew a frustration penalty on Gomez near the end of regulation and the Sabres scored on that PP in overtime.

Anyway, take a look at the schedule for BC leading up to the UNH series:

@BU
UML
@UML
UMass
vs. BU
@Providence
vs. Harvard/NU
NU
@NU

**Could potentially play NU three times in one week--odd

@UMass
UMass

They're in a great spot right now and should really take advantage of this schedule over the next month.

i agree, that's why after the egg we laid up in Orono ( not taking away from a dominating performance by Maine) this BU game friday night is HUGE. other than seeing them in the beanpot, it's our only game against a ranked team until UNH

I've been waiting to see Gerbe bring his agitation game to the NHL. That was great to see. Gomez showed his true colors when his frustration resulted in a two handed baseball swing of the stick to Gerbe's head. All Gerbe did was out work him for possession in the corner. Led to game winning PP goal, awesome.

Hopefully BC brings their best this weekend. As tight as hockeyeast is this year, I would almost rather a league win vs BU than a beanpot win. Home ice is huge for this team.

BC is going to get home ice with two hands tied behind their back. I wouldn't worry about getting home ice.

O.K to say he ran him was a bit much but I found the whole episode quite entertaining.:D As for our current version they need to take care of business starting this weekend. I can't imagine Umass Lowell being too huge a problem but BU isn't going to go down easy, especially after how things went down last time we played in their building.

In case anyone doesn't follow BC on twitter:

BCSportsNews MIH:Captain Joe Whitney will join Kathryn Tappen on the NESN set during the second intermission of tonight's Bruins-Sabres telecast

Well, Gionta would have won the Hobey had it not been for Miller... pent up frustration these ten years, right? :)

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

haha... My daughter was pizzed I was rooting for Nate. Told her I hoped he scored 5 goals and the Bruins 6. :)
Gotta love a 5'4" kid that goes after Chara. That was face to waist and Nate wasn't backing down.
Any truth to the rumor there's 5 Terrier's limping around campus tonight? :D

so the athletic dept sent an email out yesterday to promote, and i use that word loosely :rolleyes: saturday nights UML game and to sell out conte again :eek:. a third straight sellout would be great. just wondering why 2 days before the game they start to promote it but i guess at least they did attempt to

Anyone know why Barry Almeida didn't dress last night?

York said he got hit against Maine and was feeling lightheaded throughout the week, so they decided to play it safe and rest him. Said there's a chance he could be back tonight.

Looks like Macleod is the odd man out these days. I realize he's a freshman, but you'd think with his talent they'd shake up the lineup somehow to get him on the ice instead of TAtkinson or Brown. Didn't he play forward earlier in the year and I know that Alber has played forward?
