Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010
Up 2-0 and 3-1, it felt like BC was always in control. Credit to Harvard for not packing it in and then capitalizing on Wey's mistake. BC did a good job after that in weathering the storm and did all the little things necessary to win. The only thing they couldn't do last night is really put Harvard away, but that's gonna happen. Only took three penalties which is always important.
Looking at the box score, Gibbons and LeBlanc were the only ones penalized for that scrum. Couldn't tell from where I was sitting. LeBlanc had a near breakaway in the 2nd, but couldn't settle the puck out of mid-air at center ice...
There was another play in the 3rd where I believe Carey put one across the crease but had no angle to put it in...
Breakout seemed crisp to me for the most part. The defense has been a pleasant surprise.
Never easy to win on the road, I don't care who you're playing.
Milner is 4-0 with a 2.25 GAA and .905 save percentage. Not too shabby for someone who wouldn't be here if Muse wasn't coming off an injury. Hopefully Muse can build off his 30 save performance at BU...
One loss in the last 10 games and even that was a game they could/should have won. One last thing to point out, we all know protecting 3rd period leads was an issue last year. This year: really, the only game that sticks out is the 4-4 tie at UNH. At least it wasn't a loss!
One game to go before the break. Providence has just one win in their last six. Oddly enough, it came against a good UML team. They'll also be playing UNH Friday night while BC will be resting. Let's go to the break with a win.
