"the kid" is stunned but really, i don't think anybody should be surprised by this. i don't feel bad for BC and i have no ill will towards Milano. It is what it is. perhaps this will be a reality check for the staff in general in terms of who they go after. by and large they've targeted the right kids and avoided situations like this. got burnt here. mesmerized by his talent i guess. learn and move on!

The "rumor' was floating out there all the while. Don't forget, Milano burned Notre Dame, too. BC will manage to get over this,

over this,

Milano has told those around him that he'd make a decision -- BC or OHL -- after the US national junior camp is finished.

oh no question. and at same time, might just be a warning for the staff in regard to who they go after.

I don't like it when it happens to any schoool, just because I think the NCAA has more than proven itself as a viable route to make the NHL.

In this specific case, not sure it's worth the headache. These rumors don't appear out of thin air. We've seen down the street what happens when kids aren't all in at the program.

Anyway heading to this fall now looking at 14 forwards:

Fitzgerald
Cangelosi
Gilmour
Calnan
Linell
Straight
Smith
Sit
Silk
M. Gaudreau
McMullen
Spiro
[strike] Milano[/strike]
Tuch
Sanford

A little thin now up front.

Before anyone suggests it, apparently Wood arriving this fall isn't an option

I think they should. BU made the move to 7:30pm Friday home games a few years ago and it has worked out very well. Traffic around BU is terrible on Friday nights and it is hard for some people to get there on time. Since the change was made the attendance (except for last season's overall poor attendance) was much better at puck-drop than at the 7pm Friday games.

Personally I'm mixed on the 7:30 starts. Better as it does buy you some extra time to get to the games, worse if you are like me and bring your kids to the game who are typically in bed by 8:30.... So it's a half an hour later, more tired kids, maybe leave early etc...

All in all I think I prefer the 7:00 start time.

what was up with Demko's awful numbers at Lake Placid? His last couple games were good but in the earlier games they were terrible. Any concerns here with the hip issue?

I asked Mike mcMahon who is up there, what's the story w him & his hip.

"Doesn't look like it and everyone I've spoken to scoffs at the idea...if it were anything bad, he wouldn't be playing in these exhibition games. He's going to re-evaluate next summer. Hips have an imperfection in the joint. Common for a goalie his size & a 3-4 month recovery, no big deal. More of a stiffness, no paind and nothing he can't play thru."

Just watch him (or any talented goaliie of his size) hop up and down constantly, it's no wonder there are hip issues.

New jerseys for this year are CONFIRMED by the kid; I'm dying to get a look at them.
