mook you talking about the guy who inexplicably wound up for a slap shot with a guy coming at him?

would have loved to see brown's goal reviewed like it should have been but such is life in this league.

yah. after the block he tried to race the guy to the puck and we all knew he was losing. instead of flipping around and trying to take the middle he kept going toward the rw board and left the eventual goal scorer all alone to come in on demko. poorly played there.

that was a goal.

appears there were two goals at uhn also waived off (one for each).

a hea ref's hat trick today!!!

i'm not shocked. nd is playing their best right now and is a tough match up. even the games bc beat nd this year weren't easy wins. the only thing that "shocked" me were the unforced errors.

Re: Boston College Hockey '13-'14: Tournament Season - One Game At A Time!

Observations:
1.) Both teams deserved their respective results.
2.) BC's goaltending a worry, amplified by their inability to score at the rate they were.
3.) An avalanche of shots wide of the net.
4.) nail-biting at times seeing BC trying to get out of their own zone, never mind doing stuff at the other end (#3 above).
5.) Having said all that, I still think BC will be a major force in the NCAAs. The Irish played the right 'type' of game versus BC, but that doesn't mean the next few teams can.

heh so even mook says it should have been a goal...what a colossal blunder.

Well guys, the effort was there tonight. The goaltending and brains were not.

Watching this series was like watching Steve-O snort earthworms into his nose or staple his butt cheeks together on a Jack Asz episode; much of the pain was self-inflicted, it was so stupid all you could do was laugh, and it makes you want to puke.

Time to fire up the skillet? I would have said this is crazy 6 hours ago... now I think it's a 50/50 shot. Maybe see how each practices for 2 weeks and make a decision next Friday. Demko just looks like a shooter tutor right now.

When Billet is bad, you know it pretty quickly. When he's on, you won't see any softies. He's been 'on' an awful lot this season, and when he's on, he's one hell of a goaltender. JMO.

Since no one feels like talking about the game or their feelings, I'm going to put this out there and talk about my feelings. When Linell-Sit-Smith rolled over the boards for the final shift of the 2nd period... knowing the team has been giving up goals all March in the last minute of periods, I almost had a freakin brain aneurysm.

This weekend:
Sit -7
Smith -4
Linell -4

Fitzgerald -3
Brown -2
Cangelosi -2

Silk -1
Calnan E
Gilmour +1

Anyone want to offer thoughts on this other than the obvious that BC is a 1-line team 5x5 and Calnan and Gilmour are going to be good and could be great. I mean, -7 on the weekend... ND only scored I think 11 even strength goals this weekend. ONLY! JFC.

sit line was actually pretty good tonight IMO but when it comes down to it, they ultimately didn't score and then get beat on the winning goal.

I had the same feeling, thinking with less than a minute left in the period, why oh why was that line coming over the boards. And then of course, the subsequent goal was a stone cold killer. I usually head out in the hall between periods to talk with the people I've sat with for many years. Today, I stayed in my seat, too angry and disgusted to want to talk to anyone at the end of the second.

Shocking stuff. Maybe this will be the wake-up call you guys need for the D-1 tourney?

First period they were ok. Smith rang the pipe early, that would have been a nice one to have. Like the kid a lot. Always have. But... This is a terrible line. Want to see them all succeed but there's just no denying it.

York is going to look like a genius when he brings a whole new lineup to the DCU Center in 2 weeks. Some poor coach breaks down film of BC in a span of 20 minutes, wrings his hands and knows he'll win and then bam, who are these guys?
