Youngest team in the country, but don't let the facts get in the way.
I never went to BC, but my Dad is a double Eagle (BC High/BC). He'd take me to games at the always-frigid McHugh Forum when I was a kid, so I go back that far. I bought tickets for him and me to go see the Championship game in 1998 when a strong BC team lost in heartbreaking fashion to Michigan. But here we are fifteen years and three national championships later, and I also feel thankful (for him and for me) to have witnessed what we witnessed. And to conclude that those three could have been five...
Except for BU. They are quickly turning into the 'Short Bus' of college hockey.
BC might be the youngest team in the country but they just lost to a PC team that played 10 freshmen!
I said to some of the guys I sit with after Hayes went down if York could milk 1 more trophy out of this group it would be pretty impressive. Then Wey & Whitney go down.
Look we all knew this team incredibly top heavy before injury hit, they to lose 2 of your top 5 forwards and your most dynamic threat go ice cold and you're playing 4 FR D regularly, it's no wonder they are struggling.
Far from me to criticize York but these last 2 recruiting classes have been very very average at best. You have Gaudreau who fell into the programs lap, Matheson is a clear talent, Quinn's going to be a good 4 year player, you have the other FR D which are in various stages of development, & the rest....
Straight and Silk were both blue chip recruits that just haven't panned out yet and Vatrano was as well but obviously never showed up. Wouldn't necessarily blame York, but really need to hit a home run with next years class.
Just a question, It was never more than "buzz" about Straight and Silk being blue chip recruits. Silk's recruitment was based on Mass HS hockey Austin Prep ice and Straight some equally low level canadian junior team.(pre Silks joining National Dev and Straight going to BCHL). Both never performed at a blue chip level in those post committment leagues prior to getting to BC.
So I ask how were they 1. deemed Blue Chip before playing anywhere where that level of skill could be displayed? 2. Why did they get offers prior to proving performance at such level?
Maybe Good promotion, slick advisors and with Silk a family connections.
so if you don't blame the recruiter ie York, Who do you blame?
Is there any validity to the rumor that BC is destined for the Big 10 for hockey? If the Big 10 approached them, would BC be receptive to an offer?
Will the decision be made at a higher level? How many more years will Jerry coach?not unless they ask you guys too. Jerry has always said BC and BU should never be separated

I think the better question is what is up with you? Now piggy backing off what hoky said? You're all over the place.
Straight was a Central Scouting "A" lister and his development sputtered only after he signed. Silk was good enough for the National Team and was never the same after his Achilles injury, which again happened after he committed.. More bad luck than anything but that's what happens when you recruit 15 and 16 year olds.
