Not unexpected. It's gotta be awfully tough having parents like that and peaking at like 9 years old. I feel bad for the kid.
School may or may not have been his thing. But given what I saw on the ice this season, a degree sure would have been a nice backup plan.
We NEED to keep Cotton to have any realistic chance of winning anything next year. But I don't get a good feeling there either.
Lofty expectations. Hopefully they can score some goals for the kid next year.
...Father does not see a winning program gets more income for the university when you go to good bowl games and NCAA tournaments...I have no reason to believe he even attends one game even from what I hear...His support is clearly lacking and short sighted

This is what I said when Bellows left BU. If your kid was getting free tuition at a place like BC or BU, and for the first time ever, his ability to earn millions or hundreds of thousands in the NHL may be in doubt, wouldn't you say "maybe we should stick with the NCAA route and make sure you at least get that degree". And if he totally turns things around during a second season, then great, Plan A is back on. Rather than turn your back on the degree, possibly end up playing in the AHL for 5 years and then realizing you're left with nothing and your bank account didn't get very big in the process. I assume Bellows family is wealthy given his dad's NHL career, I have no idea what the case is for Wahlstrom.
BC beat two of the teams in the FF in the last week of the season. Primeau stands on his head in the HE finals and then lays an egg in Providence. Just a mystifying season.

If you warched this team all season it’s not a mystery
Inconsistent and lack of offense and defensive breakdowns all year
The PK and PP was not good for the most part in many of their losses
Understood , I saw a lot of it, the mystery is why they were so inconsistent. The leadership did not seem to be there on a consistent basis. In Providence I think Hutsko just decided the season wasn't over and he was going to win those games. He did. I hope he comes back full bore next year.
Reminder for the BC admin and coaching staff:
ADAPT OR DIE.
Given the state of BC athletics, we should consider changing the motto to "Never to Excel" and change our eagle mascot to become a Dodo bird (if someone made a tshirt with this new updated logo I'd buy it tomorrow).
I think BC will be very good next season with Cotton returning and the incoming freshman. I expect Helleson will accelerate and join the team this season. The team will also be a year older that will help against 24-25 year old players most teams use.
Go Eagles!
